Mirage had red & white stripes (stickers) on his G1 toy, that is where I got them from, my G1 Mirage has an original unapplied sticker sheet or he would have had them on. There was red on both the car body and his forearm stickers. I like to include all aspects of the character into whatever custom I do. I don't pull from just the cartoon when I detail a G1 or G1 inspired figure, I pull from the toy as well. that is why my Universe Sideswipe has a black shoulder cannon and a white missle, instead of being all white.
That is really really cool. You brought out a lot of detail on the figure that emphasizes things I never noticed before. Excellent choice of Mirage colors.
thanks guys, I stared at him for so long looking at every detail of the mold thinking, who would this guy fit, and other than the chest sides (rear of the car) and the blades, I thought Mirage, I may have done a Blurr but he is not one of my favorite characters, but Mirage is, and he had no recent representation, so I chose to do him. At least Blurr got into Animated. Mirage has had nothing really for 3 years, since Classics, and I did his Classics mold in G1 with a custom shoulder launcher. My Classics Mirage for comparison. I used the same paint on both of them.
