This project has been scrapped and instead used for this.

Omega was getting a bit frustrating, so instead I've worked on a little side project to clear my mind a bit. I always liked RotF Leader Megatron, but the lack of articulation really bothered me, as well as the different murder arm. Voyager Megatron fixed some of my issues with it, but it was just too damn small. So I figured: Hey, why not combine the two? Especially since I was planning to replace voyager Megatron with the upcoming Rising repaint anyways, so I won't have to feel guilty about chopping it up. :lol

Sadly, I don't have a camera currently, so I can't show the current WIP, which is along a lot further then this one. Hopefully, I'll be able to show more up to date pics tomorrow, or in a few days. Oh, and please ignore the left over black paint on the thigh; the original piece served as a little test before I figured out I could use it for this. :lol

    UPDATE 10-11-10:

Alright, got some pics of the current WIP build! Quite happy with how this is turning out, I'm really liking the look of it. I'm not sure if he's mostly done or if I should add more things, though....Maybe fix the 'wing' placement on his upper legs, though it's a bit frustrating that I can't figure out how to do it and not make it standout. Ah well, at least now it's pressed on tightly.

Oh, did I mention that he transforms? :)

Some minor parts forming though; the arms and feet have to be pulled off, but I tried to keep as much still attached as I could.

All you radicons get my creative motor running. I have both of the figures already, and now I really want to do this. I'll be following this one for sure.

I love the robot mode, but the alt mode is a bit "flat" looking to me. I know he was not seen that much in ALT mode in the flick, but I think the bulkiness makes him look more alien.

actually Z, the flatness of his alt mode kinda works well as that's how the art work depicts him. I LIKE IT! Now... someone make one like this but with out parts forming :D  JK Ra88

This is the BEST Megatron mod I have seen in terms of proportions in both robot and altmode. Especially the flatness of the tankmode is perfectly similar to the artwork.

I suppose you're aware this one will require absolutely nothing less than a perfect paintjob, right ?

I know, and I've toyed with the idea of making it more bulky, but I think I'll leave it as is. For one I rather like the way it looks now, but the faceguard in altmode is a rather tight fit, and I don't think bulking it up would exactly help matters. :lol

I would, but sadly I wasn't able to take pictures of all the WIP stages. :(

    Yup, Omegaprime is right. :)

And I would love to see someone do that! :lol  Would definately leave me in awe if someone could pull that off.

Nah, it's hardly the best. That has to be Fakebusker's, who did a fantastic part with the jet attachments and lights. Then there's Optronix' kickass version, which is VERY impressive even as a WIP. Hell, if it wasn't for their versions, I probably would have never gotten the inspiration to do this one.

I'll try, but no promises, since I haven't actually painted anything in years. But I'll definitely give it my best shot. :thumb

I still like the proportions of yours a lot better. Especially your shoulder mods,
because I dislike the 'block shoulders' on this mold.

I'm really hoping, somehow you find a way to get this one the best paint job possible.

Fair enough. But while I disagree with you, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the compliments. Thanks, dude. :thumb

And yeah, hopefully I'll be able to do that, but it shouldn't be a problem.

Post yours when you can dude! Would love to see it!

    Thanks!
