I tried to get a closer look on the box, but couldn't see too well. Are the red pieces on optimus' shoulders now grey like we believed to be only available for the Japanese version?

I have a hard time understanding why kids of the 80's that grew up watching and playing with G1 toys dig this ROTF/Movie which to me looks like a bunch of random parts!

However, I see this more appealing to the younger generation than the 80's kids.

Dude... I grew up with G1 (1978). Loved it's rubber tires, chrome, diecast metal parts and realistic altmodes.

Then, after G1 I lost interest because of all those neon colours.

Come 2007, and all of a sudden I'm interested in TF again because of the intrecacy of the movie designs. And I'm not the only 30 something y.o. like that whose interest came back again with the movie designs.

With so many assholes buying them from the store BEFORE why doesn't Hasbro just not ship the damn things until a week before the street date?

Seriously, nobody's honest anymore. We end up getting the shaft because some idiot who works in the stock room thinks he can ebay these before they go on sale.

    ...Really?

If you grew up with G1 boxy bots how can you possibly like detailed movie bots?

Gee, I don't know, maybe because people can like DIFFERENT things?

It's an incredibly crazy concept to grasp, I know...

It seems to be quite difficult to understand for a few members on this board.

Just the opposite, for me. The movieverse actually captures the "serious business" vibe that I thought Transformers had when I was a kid.

Honestly, the last ten years have given me everything I could hope for as an adult fan. Grown-up toys (Alternators/Binaltech) and grown-up fiction (movies).

    Count me happy.

At least with a may 30 street date, I'll be able to get two or three more credit cards in time.

I was kidding.....then I started to seriously consider it. Perhaps I have problem.

Usually for holiday merch, resets, toys like TF Movie 1 figures and stuff like that, yes, at least the retailer I work for gets stuff as far out as 1-2 months early and they sit in a bay til said release time. Not sure how smaller retails would do this, but seeing as how we compete with target/walmart in my area, I'm pretty sure this stuff should be shipping out to them now as well.

And finally, no, I dont really get a pick of the litter, FM policy is that they have to be on the floor for 20 minutes minimum and I have to either be on a break or off the clock to purchase them. I would ASSUME this is true for most retailers as I have seen a Target employee standing in an aisle staring at his watch looking at Movie 1 leader megs way back when. I can look at them all I want, but thats about it til they hit the floor, but I do get 20% off them with my employee discount, plus whatever sale is running at the time.

heh, do you work at the one next to the new Red Robin? i work over in the canyon park business park ~ i got Jazz and Barricade there when they got put out early.

It's funny how FM will sometimes be SO early on stuff (that's where Classics 1.0 hit a full month or so before anywhere else) but then some stuff hella late (i.e. universe Legends w. 4 and 5 never showed, last wave of deluxes was at least 2 months late...)
