Got meself a Takara version and did a hand swap with a 1/60 Gundam Exia have to treat as a junker (thanks for a certain acquaintance of mine) and the usual painting of details. Yeah, I know, big hands and all, but I love him :D

    EDIT: PUP Modepics added

Big hands are sooo anime ;)

Looks great. Is the takara Prime any better compared to US Prime?

    Nice custom!

thanks guys and gals for the comments, appreciate it :D

iDD: Practically there are no difference except for the smokestacks. Takara one is made out of hard rubber and not easily bendable whiles the Hasbro version has bendable stacks.

Just wondering, I have a 1/60 Strike Gundam from the Seed line all junked up. Think those hands would work?
    Love what you've done!

The hands are a little big for my tastes, but overall excellent work. I love little details, especially when they're painted so well.

Actually it is not that hard:-
    1) cut up the swivel joint for the ROTF prime
    2) glue the swivel joint on the 1/60 hands and thats it. :D

Yes! That would work perfectly. It shares the same mold with the exception of the hand guard.

Thanks, SL. Yeah, as I mentioned, it is a bit big. But until something better comes along or when I learn how to cast my own set of hands, this will have to do. :lol

Sir, can I ask if you used an airbrush, or spray paint or other advance techniques on "silvering" the default plastic grey on your prime? I'm thinking of doing the same but I lack the skills/experience/resources to do those advanced techniques.

What do you think about simply brushing the silver on optimus???

    nice prime btw

    thnx for the reply

woa... too big for me. Nice job on the custom though. If didn't any better, I'd say those fingers are movie-accurate! Are all Master Grade Gundams' hands about the same size? Or are there some which are a tad bit smaller?

ummm, thos are not master grade "hands", as he said he got them from a 1/60 scale gundam exia, master grades are only 1/100 scale, master rade hands are alot smaller than 1/60's or what they call Perfect Grades

I just use a brush and my Mr. Color Silver and a steady hand. Seriously.
As on your question on brushing over silver on Optimus, you can always try hand brushing it over first to see the effects.

I kinda grows on you after a while. Here is a pic of him during the TF Convention held in my country recently.

I see, but those master grade hands, which you say are from 1/100 scale gundams, should be in scale with Leader Optimus, right? Because the 1/60 ones are, for me, still a tad too big.

ummmm, no, I also collect gundam kits, I have 2 master grades here at home, most MG's (master grades) come with a stand so u can pose it better. WITH the stands MG's are taller than optimus, w/out them they shrink in comparison w/ him, 1/100 scale gundam are a just a little bit bigger than voyager classes, what more to ROTF prime, I tried using the 1/100scale hands for optimus but they're really to small. the hands are a little bigger than half of optimus's head.. hehe ^_^ sorry bout the long post
