So much for China allegedly regarding ROTF's depiction of Shanghai as offensive. :lol

The Chinese gov't knee jerk reaction. ANY depiction of China not controlled in every way by their own ministry would be considered offensive. I'm amazed the movie was permitted to play there at all.

I wonder what specifically was the complaint about this film?

Considering that the majority of the citizens over there don't go to movie on a regular basis, this is surprising news.

i was wondering that too ~ that scene is pretty limited in it's scope as far as showing you much of anything or really giving you the sense of where it was.

Any offense they might have taken was completely nullified by China's slavish love of anything related to giant robots, for they love giant robots more than any other country in the world by a wide margin, even Japan.

Although the Philippines might come close.

I'm glad that it broke the record in China over that sorry Titanic. Revenge of the Fallen superior... Titanic inferior! Well, at least in China!
