updates on page 3 Custom rear bumper and rebuilding running boards!

Here is my shot at Ironhide.

I've gotten more good use out of my new casting supplies. So much in fact I'm now out :rip  . I still might make some parts to fill in the gap in the rear bumper when more supplies come in. Wish I could find a 1/32 topkick to get the correct side mirrors as well....

    Mods include:

Guns and head from ROTF Ironhide
    Balljoint neck
    Custom exhaust stacks
    removable running boards

Bot mode pics come tomorrow after final touch ups. Sleep time is now, but after finishing the running boards tonight I couldn't help but snap a couple of pics.

    [edit] Bot pics are up!

    C&C welcome!

Looks awesome! I've been looking for a junker ROTF Ironhide to do the same...

Thanks guys! Bot pics are coming as soon as I get off of work and can work on him.

They are cast pieces made from a Mack truck I bought to help detail Mixmaster. I just trimmed down the end of the stubby pipes and attached the new parts. The running boards are from the same mold, just two stacks glued together end to end.

This is my favorite movie Ironhide custom ever. I'd so love to have one for myself. Great work! :thumb

Awesome!! I like the ball joint neck! :thumbs2:

I think his knuckles get some copper on the round "screw head" looking areas.:thumbs2:

Awesome work! I love how he's not heavily drybrushed in bright, shiny silver. It captures the movie look where there is a lot of black to the 'bot mode. I gotta agree with SQ7, this is one of my favorite Ironhide customs yet. :)

damn.... I knew I forgot something. lol. I'll have to touch it up later. I've thought about replacing his hands as well. There really isn't a reason to have pegholes with this guy.

Thanks! I liked the more heavy brush on Ironhide. It fits his character, and helps combat all that black on black.

Thought I would post this up. Pic I took today while organizing my workspace. My ROTF Autobots so far (Ironhide is technically movie 1, but his guns are ROTF :D ). Prime and BB are still factory stock, but BB is up next for a redo along with mixmaster. Prime is waiting... Eclines hands.. Possiblly FP gun if it's not 20 million dollars, FRs flame templates. So much to do so little money....

Ironhide is armed to the servos! Everybody better steer clear of him!

On the subject of side-view mirrors: If you're keen on making Ironhide more accurate, why don't you just leave the mirrors the way they are? The Ironhide prop vehicles have the bling you've customised, but he also has small, non-standard mirrors.

The custom Topkicks that Monroe sold in 2007 had normal truck mirrors, though.
