This is a great repaint idea, but I have to confess to being a bit disappointed with how the colours turned out in bot mode. A few extra paint apps there would really help. There's a few areas that are really crying out for it, if for nothing else to showcase some of the fantastic detailing that's already in the mold. And I wish Hasbro would stop using so much cheap-looking grey plastic all the time. I really appreciate them doing the homage, and I may get it, but it'll spend most of it's time in truck mode if I do.
Niiiice. or maybe it's just me and being able to see the potential on this guy. i agree, i think the paint apps and color is a littel lacking, but, it's a great start for a classics hoist. i had planned on doing some new paint and parts anyways, so this isnt a deal killer. And as far as the head, yeah, a remolded one would have been nice, but it's pretty close to the origianl anyways (i.e. his horns). i liked this mold, transformation was fun but not time consuming. i think with some careful painting this thing will shine!!! Randy!
Insta-buy! I'm glad they didn't remold the head, since the original is already a near perfect Hoist update. Pretty well shows that G1 can work quite well, with the movie aesthetics.
I like it, though it's a little too green for my taste. It might be a less G(eew)1 option, but I'd let the diamond-plate on the chest stay silver, to break up the color scheme a bit. Haven't decided yet if the gold-ish color is better or worse than the G1 orange in this case.
It's not a perfect fit and is still almost 'too movie', but as I hoped, it'll fill the spot in Classics/Universe just fine.
Eh I don't really like it. I like the ROTF line and am not complaining about it but this one I just don't like for some reason. Nothing against Hoist as a character though.
I'd still prefer a Hoist made especially with the original in mind and nothing else, regardless of how close it still is, but you know, it is pretty nice. I have no issue with the mold at all, so I might grab one. Could use some green on the hands/forearms maybe. It'd be cool if they could've figured out how to construct it so that the back could've ended up as his chest too, that'd be perfect.
LOVE it. I don't think you could really ask for a much better Classics Hoist than that. He's not super cartoon-ettic, but he reminds me of Classics Cosmos, ie. he's G1 Hoist but more bada$$. I'm in the "Must Buy" catagory. One of the very few movie toys I feel that way about.
*looks at this statement* *looks at your avatar of a G1 re-colored Movie Constructicon* *looks at this statment again* Haha, really?
