I noticed something suprising in this screenshot from the ROTF DVD!

Check out what is circled in red:

It's one of Optimus Prime's swords on Grindor's knee!

Take a good, hard look at it. It has what looks like a handle at the other end!

Could it be that Prime's swords are detachable and that he can wield them by hand?

Or it's the peg that holds them on to his arms. But it could be a handle.

And this was pointed out in the "Hidden things in ROTF" thread.

Perhaps a screen capture from the Blu Ray can provide a closer look ?

Watch the scene closely, and you'll see that OP actually throws his sword at Grindor at one point (after using Starscream to shoot him up, I think).
Grindor attempts to use OP's sword, too.

Yeah. Prime threw the sword at him a scene ago. In the next scene, Grindor pulls it out just before the face ripping incident.

Geez, don't you people watch these things frame by frame, like true fans?:p

Wasn't there a whole thread dissecting the forest battle blow for blow?

My favorite moment btw, best viewed in the IMAX version; When Optimus rolls over Starscream, causing him to accidentally nail Grindor in the face with a missile.

Man I wish stuff like this was more evident during the fight scenes. The fights move too fast, the camera is too shaky, and little touches of detail like this get lost visually in the jumbled mess of parts that are the robot designs.

Poor Grindor always is getting miss treated... =-P

Also my favorite scene is when Megatron uses his fusion cannon at full power and goes flying.... You see all the effects in the Imax version of stuff flow off Optimus...
    Its just fucken amazing.

Absolutely. Even now I find it hard to see what's going on in most of the fight scenes in both movies even in HD.

Mine is when he cuts off Grinder's arm and it goes flying out of control, thanks to the propellor blades. :rock

As iffy as I am on RotF, the forest battle remains one of the best action sequences I have ever seen in a movie.

I've known about this since I saw it on IMAX. He tosses his blade at Grindor when he is in the far right background, and when he turns around and starts smacking up Starscream. It's very low throw, and you do hear Grindor scream in pain.

Happens at exactly 2:00-2:01 minute mark. You'll hear Grindor scream:

Oh and you definitely see and notice a lot more when disecting the IMAX Extended fight on BluRay. Even the HD version on TV doesn't do the film justice. BluRay is just so freakin good and clear, obvious cuz it isn't running at full 1080P on tv

but sometimes it's better when it's almost a blink-and-miss, because it will want you to go back and watch it multiple times to see what you can etch out from the scene.

Yeah, the whole fight (IMAX version) is absolutely the best scene I've ever witnessed in a movie. My favorite part is when (only in IMAX footage) Optimus is being cut by Grindor, has a small blade fight with Starscream, and is actually shown being grabbed and thrown overhead into a few trees by Megatron.

Yeah, caught that the first time I saw it. Fantastic scene, had no trouble making out any part of it at all.

theres this very very minor error in the forrest battle that gets to me. Right before Optimus is blasted a few feet by Megatron, Grindor is walking right behind Megatron. Then when the camera pulls to a wide shot, grinder skips to a few feet infront of megatron and to his right. Its just something that the editor should have caught pretty easily but who knows...maybe they didn't have time to fix it. Its just something that irks me tho and I don't know why lol Other than that, the forest battle is awsome! Especially when prime pulls out both swords!

It's little details like these that really make the fights look actually real instead of just CGI robots fighting.
