I haven't gotten the leader figure yet, but a lot people say they like the voyager better so I started with that one. This is my version of "final battle" Megatron, even though I know that "technically" there are some differences:

    - I know it was his cannon arm that was ripped off, but I hate the gimp arm so I removed that instead [EDIT: Thanks to Optronix Prime for the correction, I got it right after all, lol]

    - In the film the arm was removed at the elbow, but with my version most of his forearm is still intact.

I took liberties, sue me. :D

I coated the entire figure in Testors metallic silver, then I did some drybrushing with copper and black on certain parts of the figure to add a weathering effect. After that set, I went over the entire figure again with liquid leaf silver argent, which provided a good overall mix to the color.

For the fireblast effect, I took a pen cover and snapped off the little piece that is normally used to hook it to your shirt pocket:

It was a little too thin to fit in the little groove inside the cannon, so I took a piece of tape and wrapped around the end a few times until it fit snugly. Then, I used a hot glue gun for layering the blast effect:

I took Megatron's head, used a dremel w/sanding attachment to rough up the side of his face, then dry brushed with some black and copper to create the "charred" look:

Finally, I used red and yellow for the blast effect, inserted into the groove and voila', blast effect for Megatron at the battle in Egypt:

I normally just do weapons and blast-effects, this is the first time I've ever taken on an entire figure. Comments and critiques are definitely welcome.

Actually, you are right, it WAS that arm that was cut off, the murderarm wasn't severed, just broken.

By the way, awesome damn custom, I love the face damage.

    Thanks guys. :thumbs2:

Have to say again, thanks to Tom Servo for the fireblast tutorial and thanks to TheTransTorture for all of the examples of great "battle damage".

That looks nice my man!!!! I would like to see a little more silver dry brush with a little more black wash over that. I think that would top it off!!!

I agree with encline. A little more bright silver drybrushing on the edges would add some more depth to the metal finish.

But overall the paintjob looks great and the battle damage effects are awesome. Great job! :)

I also really like the damage effects you added to the face, and I love your technique for creating blast effects, I'm gonna have to try that sometime!
