Couldn't find a thread about this, please lock if old.

I just returned from hunting rotf toys here in Sweden. Both Megatron and Optimus have different soundclips in robotmode then the US versions.

Instead of "I am MEGATRON!" and "I am Optimus Prime" They just say their names (Megatron laughs afterwards)

I shot a quick video to demo.

I do think the one on Megs' is an improvement, the fact Prime has Cullen's voice booming from him more than makes up for the missing two or three words from the chip.

My guess is that Optimus Prime and Megatron are the same all over europe's plethora of languages, Hasbro didn't want to possibly alienate some of the market by making their voices purely English.

Yes, I think so too, but the Animated characters had the same English voices..and those were complex sentences. I'm disappointed by this change :(

Wait, the Euro version of Prime has the shoulder pieces already painted silver instead of red?

May I inquire as to what colour this versions middle toe is, in contrast to the US versions random red?

:lol  I love that Megatron chip. Makes me want to stand him next to animated Megs and have them laugh at each other.

The toes are still red. It seems the silver shoulders are painted over the regular red parts..but I thought the red shoulders were changed for the American release as well?

True that, I can guess the movie would be more widely viewed, and purchased, than the Animated stuff so that may be some reason. Also remember that the Leader class toys from Animated are nowhere as complex as, say Leader Prime is. Budget has to go somewhere.

    Someone ask at Botcon!

...That's a real disappointment for me. I loved their original sound clips. :(

ROTF toys found in Slovakia as well. Leaders without "I am.." sound, but I really liked Meg's ha-ha-ha, so I bought him right away. If somebody reads this thread past my post, can you tell me prices in your country (Eu)?

    Ours are (in Eur)>
    Scouts 12,5
    Legends 5
    FAB and deluxe 17
    Gratity bots 12,5
    BB helmet 61,5
    Voyagers 28
    Leaders 58

Prices seem to have gone up with Rotf here in Sweden. Here's the prices I remember.

    Leader: 799 Sek = 72,1 Eur
    Voyager: 449 Sek = 40.58 Eur
    Deluxe: 229 Sek = 20.70 Eur
    Scout: 149 Sek = 13.47 Eur

Sure sucks, and those are prices from the major toy retailer in the country :(

    thanks for price comparisons guys.

You know, it still can't beat the first movie leaders that showed up in tesco stores in 2007 and were about 92 USD (2300 SKK) at that time. I am surprised ROTF leaders are only 58 EUR (1750 SKK). On all scales, ROTF toys are cheaper. Even Animated leaders are more expensive (1800 SKK) than ROTF leaders.

Today, I bought only ROTF Megi because of his evil laughter (I am glad I got US OP for the whole fabulous Cullen sentence). I don't have the means to do it, but somebody should definitely make a short youtube video of Ani/ROTF Megis laughing Beavis/Butthead style :rock
