Wow, I didn't think Lockdown would make a good Dinobot. I stand corrected.

The animated versions were cool and now a movie version both made out of the same character might need to try myself.

That stuff won't accept most paint. Go to an automotive shop and look for Vinyl/Fabric paint or Vinyl dye. Should come in a spray can. That stuff ought to stick no problem.

Go buy some brush on KrazyGlue. It comes in a purple package. Brush this on in a VERY WELL VENTILATED area. Nasty effin' fumes! Let it dry, recoat to make sure you didn't miss any spots. Once it's dry, you can paint it like normal. It will also be a lot stiffer. I learned this while working on ROTF Ravage. The rubber spikes would not dry for anything.

Very cool custom by the way. Would love to see alt-mode. As for the Lockdown I'm working on, I got in touch with a user by the name of Green Skin, and they cast me a set of hands in a harder plastic.

Interesting. Using a movie figure that is based on an Animated figure to make a Beast Wars character. Looks good.

Dude, just dye the hook the color you want it to be.

The rubber used is light grey. You can get pretty much any color you want by dying it. Plus, you don't alter the material in any way. So no hardening, or paint chipping. Not to mention that a box of dye costs a heck of a lot less than automotive paint or superglue.

Just check out the tutorial here. You'll get the idea.

    Hope this help!

*edit* Duhh. I forgot to comment on the custom itself! It's kick ass! I love it. I love that Dinobot's colors give the robot a kind of steampunk vibe. Keep up the good work, man!

If you used acrylics, it won't dry, just stay sticky. Use enamels, either spray or brush-on and it should dry.

Awesome job - the character does make a rather decent Dinobot figure. However, seeing as how he's a car, and not a dinosaur, I'd like to put forward a motion that we refer to him as 'Dynobot.' You know, like the horse-power measuring device? Kick-ass figure tho - well done!
