Maybe its just me but would anyone else like to see the ROTF Devastator toy(both versions) in the classic green and purple colors?

i wouldn't, although it's a safe bet for a redeco. i like unified color schemes, but just those two colors on a canvas that big?

That's more or less a given, practically [red for the clear plastic, black and silver as accents] but it'd depend on the amounts. If they're just smallish accents it wouldn't quite change the green/purple mass, but if they were large enough patches then it wouldn't quite be as much of a throwback to the classic.

For the combining one i wouldn't care either way since i'm passing, but my Ministator will be in Movie colors. The individual Constructicons I'd prefer to get in new color schemes before G1 color schemes... worked with Mixmaster, but I'd like to see a red Rampage with silver/black battle damage spraying [or an actual green-blue Crushbull nod, instead of the more traditional colors they ended up going with with Grindcore] before a G1 version.

There's plenty of construction vehicles across TF eras that would be awesome to nod to here - RiD Scavenger [or the BM colors, although I prefer the RiD ones], Energon Tread Bolt, the different Sixbuilder colors...

Eh... I don't really care for the g1 movie repaints. But I'd be interested to at least see what it looks like. Even photoshopped.

I'd rather they just give him red paint apps on his face.

I think that would look a bit garish...

However that would also be pretty cool.

I'm thinking that Frenzy Rumble and/or Sabring Ng probably have them in the works. If not them, then I'm pretty sure someone else will have them soon.

I think it would look awesome as most movie toys look great with G1 homage. The ROTF stock movie color scheme reminds me too much of RID Landfill.

For something that big, I dunno. I honestly have my doubts he'll be repainted. The only situation I can see that happening is for the TF3 line if Devastator appears again. He's just too big to justify a second release, IMO. I'd say a repaint of the Legends class Devastator would be far more likely, if anything.
After all, for Ultimate Bumblebee in TF1 a lot of people were saying an Ultimate Cliffjumper was "inevitable", but that didn't happen.

I have no doubt they won't repaint him. He'll have a difficult time selling, as is. A repaint of a $100.00 toy (outside of Botcon, or TFCC) is next to impossible. Unless, that is, Hasbro just likes throwing money into a fire.

Cuz dang, $200.00 worth of toys that aren't selling is a grrrrrreat idea!
Wait. $300.00 if you count Bumblebee, he's not selling either.

Somehow $300.00 at any given time on a shelf, not selling, is a bad business move.

Fans that came into the fold because of the movies really won't see a necessity for the repaint, so it'd be targeted at long-time fans (more or less). So like AF said, it'd be a bad business move.
Personally, I may buy the initial version since I already have the Legends one pre-ordered, but I know for a fact I wouldn't waste the money on a green version.

Its a good suggestion to give them a G1 colour scheme but I don't see it happening unless the toy sells extremely well or it get released in a later movie line.

How about no misleading thread titles!

And this discussion has been brought up countless times before. Good Lord.

It'd be more of a shelfwarmer than the original.

I think the legends Devastator combiner would be good for a repaint.
