Thanks for the pics, I can see why you don't like it. It's possible it my have a Decpeticon symbol when it's at retail & this is just a production sample, but more likley it was just mistransformed in the photoshopped pic. Suprised you didn't keep Bonecrusher, he's one of my favorite movie toys.

I want to see a scene in the movie where the Autobots come up to a big hill and then you see Rampage crawl over the hill towards them, that would be sweet.

Awesome fig can't wait to get him.

Say, could you figure out what those small pieces of tread on his shoulders are supposed to do?
Maybe you can clip the whips to them, whatever effect that might have.

In the beginning, it was quite true for Animated. The designs, the figures (what we were shown at BC) didn't even come close to what most of us had hoped for.

It was given a chance and proved itself worthy of the TF name.

Beast Wars/Machines...let's face it, if it didn't say "Transformers" on the logo, no one would really know what they hell they were. Look at the Big Lots bootlegs (that are generally figure accurate, minus size and a feature or two.) unless you're in the know, you've no idea what the hell those things are, they could be a knockoff. Fortunately, the shows and Hasbro's persistence in making quality over quantity helped ensure that BW/BM became legitimate TFs and I wouldn't have it any other way. BW was awesome.

Late G1, can't really comment, seeing as I never paid much attention to it. I do know I owned a few figs here and there, but only because I knew they were TFs. When I was a kid, it didn't matter what it looked like, just slap the TF name on it, I was sold.

    It's not that easy anymore.

If it wasn't for the symbol on his body, you'd have no idea what the hell he was or where he was from. He's going to need an impressive on screen display to "sell" the fact that he's an actual TF. You can't honestly tell me you could walk into a store, look at that thing (without the symbol) and tell me "Oh yeah! That's a TF right there!"

It got a vehicle mode and robot mode, without any KO partsforming, not to mention 100% Michael Bay style sculpt.

    Yeah I'd call it a Transformer first-sight.

ZOMG Furmanism! :lol  j/k But I agree with you on that. If it LOOKS like a Transformer and if it's labeled as one, then it's a Transformer in my eyes. No questions asked, none given.

I really like that Rampage figure there. And the spider legs grow on me every time I see 'em.

I know a little bit about TF's, I collect Tf's, I grew up with them.
So I'm the wrong person to ask that question to.

Ask some average kid on the street and the chances are likely that he would either call it a transformer or a power ranger (*spits*) figure.

Personally, I think rampage looks like a transformer fine, but then again I'm prejudiced.
I don't think that all TF's should have the same or similar proportions, features or qualities.

After all, not all life on Earth is human, or human like. There is a great diversity of life on Earth, full of different species and I consider every tf line to be a different 'species' of transformer.

Every tf series brings something new and fresh to the proverbial table, and for the most part I like what i see from Tf2.

    Yup! :D

Now if I could only find my G2 comics...:banghead: :cry

Thanx for the review ! Rampage looks cool indeed; innovative design; very industrial like Bonecrusher.

Somehow he's a bit beasty, like a lobster or a crab.

He looks great. I love the look of the individual CC's we've seen so far.

So a transformer with killer claws instead of hands, four legs, and a weird bug-like face?

I fail to see how this is startling or new.

Not everyone saw Beastwars or whatever your example's from.

Rampage however, will reach a bigger audience. And he still has an actual vehicle mode, not a beast mode.
