    Understandable, and not surprising.
I went opening night at midnight, and heard so many people saying they'll have to see it a few more times to take it all in. I'll be going twice more, but that'll be it.

I wonder what the numbers will jump to once the DVD/BlueRay is released?

Too bad it's also the worst-reviewed movie of the year, too. :(

Seriously, why give a shit about stuckup people who don't give a shit, think too much, have a stick up their ass and generally are conceited. It's a summer blockbuster/action popcorn movie. I don't care what people think, I liked it, that's all that matters.

The general consensus is that Summer Blockbuster/Action popcorn movies are terrible though. In terms of character, thematics and even plot Summer Action movies are very underdeveloped, and its sad that people get off watching things blow up rather than something that poses new questions, or explores an idea. I understand the thrill of watching things blow up, but there are Summer popcorn flicks that try to be more than what their genre tells them to be. This isn't one of them.

Revenge of the Fallen was a tasteless barrage of offensive images, and for what it is, what its intending to be its fantastic. However taken out of the context of Bay, the Transformers franchise, and fan hype in general, its just another Batman and Robin.

General consensus by who? The critics, the Hollywood elite and the small vocal internet minorty, maybe. But the general movie going public, who would normally make up the general consensus, seems to enjoy the entertainment and escapism that summer blockbusters offer. I know this because they buy tickets. Lots of them.

Glad to see it's doing so well. I liked it and that's all I care about to be honest.

Not gonna start dissing critics, I simply don't care about them enough to even warrant doing that.

It's now up to $486.3M worldwide according to Box Office Mojo. That puts it in #1, $24.7M ahead of Angels & Demons.

Oh look... People were laughing yesterday when Ice Age faired better (by only 3 million,) than TF2... Now it looks like TF2 had a better thursday than a kids movie and its second day.

Wonder what it will be like this weekend.

    Cool.

I don't really think there's anything else due out this year that could compete with those numbers. MAYBE the Harry Potter film but that's a long shot (IMO).

Definitely Potter. The lowest-grossing previous HP (Azkaban) took $795.6M worldwide.

Yes, but Transformers 2 took 11 mil on Ice Age 3's opening day, which meant Ice Age 3 beat it. Which meant that Transformers 2 sucked and was failing because of bad word of mouth, apparently.

If it was so bad it would not make this kind of money. Plenty of bad movies have been pulled for being bad. Remember Gigli or whatever that was called? Maybe you were expecting Shakespeare instead of lots of giant effing robots?
