I've been trying to get one of these sets, opened or MISB, don't matter. I want to use it with the FP set to make a Bruticus. But the prices on Ebay are ridiculous and it doesn't appear anyone is selling one here. I'm kicking myself for passing on this set a while back, but I had no idea what FP was and that they were making this custom set to go along with this. Is there any chance this hits Ross/TJ Maxx? Gets reissued? KO'd? Will the new FoC Brut affect it's price in anyway?

well to the best of my knowledge it hasn't been Koed and i would be surprised if it ever did. The kits work with the earlier versions of the molds as well , meaning Energon and Superlink.

As for the FoC set, I can't see it affecting the price of ROTF Bruticus as the FOC combiner is not compatible with the upgrade kits. or presumably it is not.

Your just gonna have to suck it up and pay the going rate and curse your self for not buying a set before FP came out with the upgrade kits.

I want a set of them as well but the price is just too rich for my blood.

The ship has well and truly sailed on this one, my friend. The success of the FP set has pushed the price up astronomically. The only way you'll get one at a decent price is if the seller doesn't know what they have, or by piecing one together by picking the bits up separately via ebay or flea markets.

I'm reasonably confident that Fansproject will be looking for ways they can improve the FOC set (and from the looks of things, there should be ample opportunity!), so I'd concentrate on tracking one of those down and waiting patiently!

I just got what I consider a deal this past weekend for the energon set- the guy knew what he had, but also needed rent money. I offered him $60 and he took it. Now for munitioner and explorer, I know I ain't finding that cheap.

Not a chance, sorry to say.

    Not a chance here either.

Hasn't been yet and I'm shocked nobody has tried.

Some people thought it would have an effect because Hasbro would hit it out of the park so well that people would just want the Hasbro one.

Unfortunately, Hasbro kind of failed in this regard and all FOC Bruticus has done is make the price go up because even more so its now "the one true Bruticus" for most fans.

I'll give you some advice though, because I was on the hunt for this set for a long time:

Buy loose instead of sealed. This is kind of a given but sealed goes for a lot more money and you're just opening the figures anyways.

Keep checking TFW -- I got a good deal on mine and it was just a matter of being at the right place at the right time and everyone else backed out of the deal.

If you're okay with Bruticus not being G1 accurate, the Energon versions of the molds work just as well in a pinch. You can also find ROTF Blast Off and Swindle dirt cheap as most people just dump theirs.

If you go for Energon Barricade and ROTF Blast OFf and Swindle, you can save a good deal of money. My FP Bruticus used Heat Wave, Vortex and Gunbarrel until I found a deal on the ROTF set.

Wow, that's crazy! I know the seller is PISSED about that one! I personally have the RoTF Swindle and Blastoff boxed up but found a ton of Energon Barricades (Onslaught) at Dollar General a few weeks back. I sort of thought about ordering Warcry and that Blastoff repaint (forgot the name) to make second Bruticus. Then I found out the repaints don't have the parts necessary to make a complete Bruticus so I just boxed them up and who knows if they'll ever see the light of another day...

I bought mine for $150 over a year ago. I doubt you'll find a good deal in a reasonable time frame.

If I were you, I would just track down Energon Barricade, Blackout, and Kickback. They work just fine IMHO.

Good advice, but I've seen Blackout and Kickback go for 50-60 dollars and Energon Barricade is even pricier.

Blight and Stormcloud aren't too bad, but they're colors are a little on the...eccentric side.
