What's the general opinion about Blaze Master? is he good or not?

I saw a bunch of him at my local wal mart, and debating if I want to pick him up or not.

IDK. I saw him a Target yesterday and was going to buy it but as soon as I picked it up and looked at it I changed my mind. I never really liked skinny TFs so I just put him down and left.

Honestly he's not the best - too floppy and fiddly, and his arms suck.

My wife picked him up for me. I really like the alt mode. The bot mode is iffy at best.

I sort of like the bot mode.

It's kinda funky in an interesting kind of way.

I am going to reiterate the nay sentiment. I think the bot mode is terible and getting the transformation of the arms right is awful. I would suggest as a maybe if you are a fan of copter transformers but otherwise I would shy away. If you are dead set on getting this mold I would suggest waiting for the inevitable Blades/Springer/Evac repaint.

Not the best, however, the helicopter mode is very nice. The robot mode is good, the only real let down for me are the arms. Bit awkward on the shoulders, and there's no real hands. He's got a thumb to give the impression but it looks like he's wearing long sleeves.

All things said and done, there are better Deluxes out there, but he's far from the worst toy ever made at that scale. It's a testament to how good the design team are that this toy would have been considered average or even above average five or six years back, but is considered below par now.

Absolutely nothing wrong with him as a toy, just pales in comparison to some of the other toys out there right now.

You know how Rube Goldberg devices go through a lengthy and complex sequence of steps just to accomplish something completely not worth the effort? That's pretty much Blazemaster for you.

I just do not get all the hate for him. I love the toy. Alt mode is outstanding. Transformation is very complex. Robot mode looks good to me with a few minor complaints. I like how even his back kibble has a bunch of transformation steps.

Oh, and if people say he's floppy... they're doing it wrong. I have 2 and transformed correctly are very solid.

    Resounding YAY from me.

    I fragging HATE his arms.
Head/chest area could hold together better.
    Legs are decent.
Not a good impulse-buy figure, okay for collectors.

I've yet to see Blazemaster, but I like how you put that. It applies to some of the figures I've picked up recently.

I like complexity in figures like ROTF Optimus, where all that extra difficulty really pays off with making the bot mode that much more awesome. But there's other figures that have a similar level of complexity, but when you finally get to bot mode, it's just so random and misshapen that you're sort of left wondering "WTF that's it?".

One of the best alt modes ever.
no robot kibble- and damn, you really have to eyeball the cockpit to see his head.
but i have not yet transformed him.
i have just so enjoyed his alt that i kinda hate to break up all those tight panels.

    not the best? maybe so.
    his hands coulda been better.

but i am so glad i got him to add to my TF helicopter collection.

This archetype isn't exclusive to the RotF line (I would probably include a couple of Alternators in the list), but stuff like Rampage and Blazemaster have certainly brought it to the mainstream.

Maybe some day down the line, it will have a name, like "Rubeformer". (Yech, that's terrible.)
