Yeah that was going to be expected. I mean, it's the sequel to what would have been the movie of 08 if TDK didn't come out.
In Paris? Oh. I thought it already came out here in the States. It doesn't make a difference. This movie comes out in 2010, not 2009. Besides, poor ROTF got its ass kicked by Avatar, but then again every film did.
And we still have to wait 5 days till the US release? Anyway, if it's anywhere near as good as the first, it will be a better movie than ROTF, so I have no problem with IM2 coming out on top. Can't wait to see it.
Actually you didn't state everything... the article says that it was the IM2 IMAX take that beat ROTF, $2.25m to $2.1m.
I know that... what's your point. I don't get what you mean by, "Actually you didn't state everything..."
I don't get the tedious fascination (particularily in the United States) with opening weekends. They are simply NOT the be all and end all of judging a films financial success. There are only ever a handful of movies that open with record box office, but plenty that make handsome profits over their full release schedule and again at their home cinema release.
