I like the ROTF Mixmaster mould very much indeed, so decided to get the Toys R' Us G1 version. It's fair to say I don't care much for the "Yoda head", so I took the head from a spare ordinary Mixmaster I had lying around (it had already donated his arms to another Mixmaster). This is the first time I've painted anything (that isn't a wall, a shed, a fence, a car, a door, a door frame etc.) since I gave up painting Warhammer 40K figures back in the mid-90's. The head is painted with Tamiya acrylics. The majority of the head is painted with three thin coats of semi-gloss black. Various high points on the head were touched with flat aluminium, then over painted with a very thin coat of semi-gloss black. This gives the head a subtle weathered look, although it's probably too subtle for my dying SE K800. The eyes were painted by removing the light-piping, painting the "eye-lids" flat aluminium and then the eyes themselves gloss red. The light-piping doesn't work on this head anyway. The base of the head was painted purple straight from the pot, which is a very close match to the purple on the toy itself. I know it probably looks I've just dunked the head in black paint, but it works far better in person.
