From the spoilers, seems like autobots are better in combat this time round, although they are smaller in size. Eg. Prime and Ironhide took down much bigger Demolishor, Arcees chased after Sideways, eventually killed by Sideswipe, Bumble Bee rescued Sam when he is confronted by bigger constructicon (rampage?)

Well,Bumblebee has both his legs this time so that puts him at a great advantage.

 

they better be better. im sure prime is tired of doing all of the work.

Anyway, I think it'll be teamwork & cooperation with the humans' NEST that'll bring forth more results for the 'good guys'.

G1 Autobots said it occassionally : "....but Prime, we are no fighters.... "

 

bumblebee just got heart he anit scared to fight. he kicked barricade ass and from the looks of the clips and pics i've seen he kicks rampage ass until more cons show up.

 

I think its more superior intelect as well as skill in combat
... decepticons just seem to be the big bruiser who use force rather then out plan there aponent well minus characters like megatron and that most seem to be power consumed broots

 

I don't know do the Autobots have to be great warriors when the Decepticons are such jobbers that Frenzy couldn't handle a fat guy, an old, and an idiot? Or Barricade got beat down so badly by Bumblebee they couldn't even show the fight. Or Blackout had a death so lame that even Waspinator could pick on him for being such a loser.

The Autobots could be the Cybertron version of mall cops and they could still manage to slaughter large numbers of the lame movie Decepticons. Maybe a litter of kittens would be a fair fight given the Decepticons battle skills.

 

And Megatron. And Frenzy. Look at it this way. Only Bonecrusher was killed by an unassisted Autobot.

 

Frenzy killed himself.

 

Brawl as well. We also can see ironhide and ratchet struggle to hold off starscream as well.

 

Human-made weapons only took out 1 Decepticon, Blackout. And that was only because Epps spotted a weak spot in his armor underneath the chest when he used the night vision goggles at the start of the movie.

The main brunt of the damage done to Brawl was via Autobots, Jazz blasts him in the chest, Ratchet slices his arm off, then Ratchet's gun is what knocks him down the first time. Bumblebee then later finishes him off. The sabot rounds from the humans seem to do minimal damage to him, only knocking little chunks out of him. Ironhide seems to miss every shot he takes at Brawl though.  

 

but sam is a human is he not? even without the allspark humans could have still defeated megatron.

 

but if humans didnt assist autobots would be scrap. humans are still no match against soundwave.

 

It did seem that the Autobots weren't as good of fighters in the first film but then again Prime was the one who kicked the most ass. ROTF seems to have better fighters around to help the current cast.
