Blackout is a lot bulkier, so it would've been a lot easier to conceal.
It had better be pretty amazing, or else I'm just going to stick with the already amazing (and much cheaper) Voyager figure.

 

Interesting. That definitely nips that in the bud (yizhi is in the know about this stuff). I may wait and see how Leader Starscream looks before getting the Voyager. I wouldn't be surprised if Leader Starscream gets put on display, or at least officially revealed by Hasbro sometime at Botcon. I also wouldn't be surprised if there was a picture of him on Jetfire's box. It would make sense that they would be released at the same time. Here's hoping that Starscream is more of a silvery gray than the more tan-ish color his Voyager is. The tats should be some interesting paint apps on the Leader, imo. There will be plenty of repaint options for Hasbro with this figure. Skywarp would be my first choice if I had control over that.

Though I still think Blackout should have gotten the upgrade to Leader class. He's bulkier, and would have been easier to integrate the electronics. It would also be epicly awesome to see a Leader class helicopter-bot. Although it'll also be pretty cool to see an F-22 at that scale, it'd still be even more awesome to see a helicopter.

 

Yeah, Blackout needs a new giant toy more than Starscream does.

Yep. I think Blackout needs a giant toy period. The Voyager class toy he got isn't bad, but it's still pretty much just a Deluxe class figure with a big backpack on him, and his minion. Starscream on the other hand, now has two Voyager class figures, and will be getting a Leader class figure. Though at the same time I understand that he's more iconic, and more popular. It still sucks that Blackout is stuck with the toy he got in the first place.

 

I can't wait to see pics of Leader Starscream! I reaaaaally hope he'll be as cool and accurate as Optimus, but we'll just have to wait and see.

 

And why is that? no one cared about Blackout until the first movie came out, Starscream has been a major player since the VERY beginning.

I agree with you. Starscream is better known, more important, more popular and has more potential for a larger figure.

This was my suspicion from the moment it was leaked that it would be a military type TF. Starscream plays a very key role from the rumors / script leaks we've read, and it only makes sense that a fan of the movie would look for it's key characters.

While blackout needs a leader figure, he's hardly a key character. but ironically, neither was Brawl in TFTM.
