    Cool!

... but interesting how the style that most of the characters are drawn in is still pretty much standard DW/IDW style. Starscream is the only one that really has the "shrapnelled" effect of a movieformer, while all his fellow Decepticons who are based on toy designs look considerably more coherent and conventional.

One thing that really hit me in this illustration, and seems like a missed opportunity... this TOTALLY should have been blocked out as an homage to the classic G1 box back art! You know with Prime's head in the foreground and Starscream at the vanguard of a decepticon swarm emerging from space? That would have been SO sweet! Too bad. :)

Oh, and is that Thundercracker and Jetfire I see in the lower right corner?

Or just Dirge and Ramjet maybe. Hm.

Wow, Espen did an amazing job coloring this. I assume he's just doing the cover and Josh Perez will be back for interiors. Cool all around. I'm loving this series.

Heh...who could say, without reading the comic?

Thundercracker was my first instinct, but once it occurred to me that the white one was probably Ramjet, Dirge seemed like a more obvious pairing.

Its only Thundercracker and Ramjet because those are the only two "seekers" that were made into toys during the movie line (Thundercracker was a Voyager and Ramjet was a lowly FAB). Hopefully we get to see them as repaints again in the 2nd movie toyline.

That's one thing I love about this comic, its reaching out into the toyline to create new characters rather than making original ones right on the spot.

Milne is the best artist for the movie aesthetic by a mile, IMO. His detail-crammed design can sometimes make his "normal" Transformers drawings a bit confusing, but they work perfectly with the movie look.

Nice, real nice.... can't help it... Cliffjumper is soooo BB's doppelganger!! apearence wise like always.

CJ and BB must be the same type 'model' like Smokescreen and Jazz seem to be of the same 'model' body type wise.

Is that Cyclonus next to Barricade or just a random drone that looks similar to him? That one seems to have a face of some sort going on there.

Hate the whole Smokescreen/Jazz and BB/CJ thing. Talk about lazy on Hasbro's part.
