    Here is Alternators Armada Megatron.

I created him from the Alternators Optimus Prime mold. I took the original head from the Armada Megatron toy, and gave it a blood red color as opposed to the pink color on the original. I also darkened underneath the eyes with black, to give him that cartoon-accurate look.

The toy was painted with Krylon Fusion Hunter Green paint, along with Krylon Fusion Nickel Shimmer, and Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Purple. (This is my first time working with the Indoor/Outdoor paint...and it is quite different than Fusion)

For transformation, the horns on the head do need to be removed, as does the side cannon, which is from the Tank Accessory that game with Energon Megatron. The side cannon is attached by sticking the end of the engine/gun into the turret, and by wrapping the handle around his waist. It fits quite well, and stays in place.

The horns are stored underneath in alternate mode between his arms and main body. Its a snug fit...but they fit. The cannon is stored in the magic dimension...no I'm just kidding...it goes in the truck bed.

The Roof-Rack lights are from Radioshack's X-Mod line of RC cars. It was from an accessory pack from one of the trucks.

wow, that paint is smooth. At first I thought you were making Hoist seeing how it's green and all. But then notice you mention about sneek peek for Armada Megs. Interesting choice of mold for Arm Megs, but can't wait to see what comes out of it though.

Dude, something like that would look great on the upcoming Alt Nemesis Prime or a custom of him. Kinda like how Swindle had the bigger tires and the front grate. Nice idea, I like.

Actually, considering the shoulder design, I can see how you saw Arm Megs in this mold. Your Armada ALts have always turned out really cool. Looking forward to this one!

    Enjoy!

I appreciate everything you guys are saying, and this might actually be my "Farewell to Armada" piece, so I hope everyone enjoyed my run with the characters.

I'm actually going to try and focus on some of my own characters for a little bit, and then maybe I'll come back to Armada/Energon/Cybertron, although I do have a few tricks up my sleeve!

Great work! He looks really cool!

Did you have a bit more trouble with getting the purple paint to cover? What purple did you use?

Also, why isn't jetfire in the group pics?

Definitely different. They look great, but Armada Alternators would be the last thing I would think of. What made you decide to do them?

jejeje, that last 2 pics are great. Looks like Prime is saying "This is it Megatron" and Megatron answers "bring it on, Prime". :D

The main color is Krylon Fusion's Hunter Green. I also used Krylon Fusion Nickel Shimmer (my personal favorite as far as ease of use...) for the lower arms, main body/crotch and feet.

The purple color is regular Krylon Indoor/Outdoor paint...which went on very differently than the Fusion paint. The spray pattern was different, and it did not take to the plastic as nicely as Fusion. It needed a few more coats than what I am used to with Fusion.

I also used Testor Flat Black and Silver enamel for minor detailing on the arms/vents/grills and the piping on the legs.

Jetfire isn't in the pic because I did not have enough room on my desk...hahaha

I really wanted him to be in the pics, but I also wanted to have Prime present...so it was a toss-up!

Its a long story...but here goes:

When I was a kid, I used to own a lot of G1 toys. I lived ina three-story home with my family, my grandmother, and my aunt, uncle, and cousin.

When I turned 14, I found out that my parents wanted to move from Brooklyn, NY to Lancaster, PA.

My parents felt I was too old for toys...and grant it I didn't play with them anymore...(but I did display them proudly)

So, they took my packed boxes of Transformers...scribbled the word "FREE" on the side, and placed them outside my old house.

We got to Lancaster, and unpacked, and I couldn't find my stuff...I asked, and was told they were given away...and boy was I pissed.

My mom made a call to my Aunt in NY, to see if they were still there...but alas they were gone.

Years later, I went to visit my Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin, and while visiting him he was tellign me how he was selling his collection of Transformers to a Comic Store in NY called "Brain Damage" and left the room briefly.

Upon inspection, many of the toys had my initials "R.A.W" etched lovingly somewhere on the toy...something my mom did so that me and my cousin wouldn't confuse who's toys were whose.

Every Transformer I looked at had my initials. It was useless to start a family feud now, so I took the biggest, baddest, one out of his closet, and snuck it to my car out the back. Fortress Maximus...to this day is the only original G1 Transformer I own.

Since then I vowed to buy back each one that I owned, and haven't said a word to that "branch" of the family tree.

My girlfriend, upon hearing the story, and seeing my plight, did one of the most loving things a person could do. She bought me an Optimus Prime. "Bendy Prime" as you guys refer to him. Armada Optimus Prime was the first Armada character I owned...and I figured he was cool,so the cartoon must be cool. I checked it out, and fell in love all over again.

Since then I buy a few G1's every now and then, and all of Armada/Energon/Cybertron, Universe, Alternators, Japanese stuff, and anything else I can get ahold of.

And if doesn't exist, I bash it.

and that my friend, is why I stick with Armada!

    Long story right?
