No really news but stumbled across this: Energon Pub • View topic - Devastator Concept Art - Take a look at Overload Robot Mode I know we've seen a bot mode for the legends Overload, but not sure if we've seen any desgin art for him. It seems that at some point they were meant to be individually transforming Decepticons who combine rather that the multitude of Constructicons that appeared in the final version.
quite. they are his special power! and i'm not sure any of the 7 vehicles would actaully have wrecking balls, so there should be an 8th constructicons that transforms into his sack!
Yeah, the wrecking balls don't seem to show up in any of the ALT modes. I read somewhere that Devastator's balls are Longhaul's tonsils.
There are actually at least 10 Constructicons. The second bulldozer that forms his left leg, the small bulldozer that becomes his left hand, and whoever the wrecking balls come from.
Yeah, pity they couldn;t be bothered with Hightower. I do really feel that the whole Constructicon/Devastator thing was a bit half arsed. I like all the designs and the choice of 7 vechicles but it ended up filing to impress in the movie.
Yeah, you can actually see from the art that the left leg and hand are made from more than one vehicle. Though they seem to have negelcted this fact in the diagram!
? I don't see anything that doesn't have a vehicle shown except the scoop that forms the left hand and that can be explained as the double turret on brawl's main gun
brawl...? in the movie you do actually see the hand picked up by the arm in the transformation so i'm guessing that was decided by this point of the design process. it's harder to see on the left leg but the Rampage/Jumping Jack/Skipjack is smaller than Long Haul and it does look like there are more than two tracks on the leg.
I meant like the Crane guy may have had an extra scoop tacked on much like Brawl (the A1 Abrhams) had the dual cannon missile thing on top (that doesn't really exist)
would have been interesting to see Overload in Robot Mode. hopefully the Contructicons/Devastator come back for "TF3" or past "TF3"
Here is what I've counted since seeing it twice \/ Long Haul(DEAD - Individual Constructicon with Vehicle Mode & Robot Mode) Scrapper(2 DEAD - 1 Individual Constructicon with Vehicle Mode & Robot Mode Sacrificed for Parts to Resurrect Megatron; 2nd Individual Constructicon with Vehicle Mode & Robot Mode in Jordanian Desert during Final Battle with Decepticons/The Fallen) Demolisher(DEAD - Individual Constructicon with Vehicle Mode & Robot Mode) Rampage(DEAD - Individual Constructicon with Vehicle Mode & Robot Mode) Mixmaster(DEAD - Individual Constructicon with Vehicle Mode & Robot Mode) Constructicon Devastator(DEAD - Formed from 7 Constructicon Vehicle Modes with NO Individual Robot Modes: Overload, Mixmaster, Scavenger, Scrapper, Hightower, Long Haul, & Rampage) Grand Total of Constructicons in "Revenge of the Fallen" = 13 Now as to the whole deal if there is another Scrapper or Rampage forming the left hand of DEVs I have no clue. Eagerly awaiting like everyone else for the DVD/Blu-ray to see clear screencaps to solve the Constructicon/Devastator Number Mystery.
What's clear from what was seen with the toys; Long Haul model- right leg Scrapper model- right arm Hightower model- left arm Scavenger model- torso Rampage model- left leg Mixmaster model- head Overload model- spine What was seen on the screen; Long Haul model- right leg Scrapper model- right arm Hightower model- left arm unknown bulldozer model- left hand Scavenger model- torso Two Rampage models- left leg Mixmaster model- head Overload model- spine Balls. Ten Devastator components.
What was seen on the screen : 1. Long Haul model- right leg 2. Scrapper model- right arm 3. Hightower model- left arm 4. Small Scrapper model left hand. Probably a tracked loader. I saw a little bit of tracks right before the combination, but they disappear after combination. After combination, only the tracks of Hightower is seen. This is a small Scrapper model and is seen also in the concept art of Devastator who has 2 Scrapper hands. 5. Scavenger model- shoulders and torso. 6. Rampage model- left leg 7. Mixmaster model- head 8. Overload model- torso 9. Extra Long Haul, not sure which part he went into. Or maybe this was just a mistake of the movie in showing 2 Long Hauls. The movie actually made the mistake of showing 2 large Scrappers also or it could just be a positioning error from the 2 different shots. 10. Since Rampage is only 1/2 the size of Long Haul, it is possible that another Rampage was used on the left leg as suggested by the concept art. So the Devastator in the movie was formed from at least 8 to 10 Constructicons and maybe even more vehicles that were never shown.
