Finally got to take pics of my Rodimus Prime custom. I know that there are a few paint scrapes and I haven't finished making stickers, but until I get the stickers done, I plan to keep it at it is.
I also thought I'd give a bit of history on how it came to be.

I started on the project back about 2005-2006. I wanted to build a giant version of Rodimus Prime because I liked Powermaster Optimus Prime, but why wasn't Rodimus given any special figure until the Energon series (and that micromaster Hot Rod in Japan). I also came across a concept sketch from the TF:Generations book of a giant Rodimus Prime. I personally can't remember whether it inspired me to do this or I saw it while biulding him.

While building this, I realised how similar the Machine Wars Optimus Prime looked similar ro PMOP in vehicle mode (even though they were different heights in robot mode. So I took the PMOP legs, modded them, and put them on the MW Prime. It took quite a bit of modding, but I got them to fit.

For the trailer, I decided to mix the PMOP parts with a KO Gundam I got at Big Lots. The original version was to have more of the Gundam parts, mainly the arms and upper legs. But I couldn't find how to fit the legs in. So I sat on it and when I was looking for something to do while waiting on veritech fighter parts, I came across this piece and decided to restart it. Needless to say, I had to get a new trailer to work on. I used the old one as a practice dummy.

Fun fact: Some parts I had to rebuild from whatever I had in my junker bin. This way, it diverges from the original piece. One of these parts was the trailer roof. I used a popular piece from the late 80s/early 90s and modded it from there. Can you guess what it is? (hint: Captain Skyhawk).

The combined mode is where the Gundam parts are most prominant. The hands, head, lower leg pieces, tail pieces, and black guns all came from the figure. Although the face on the head is the third attempt to attatch a decent face to that head.

I'll give out pointers if you ask. Feel free to do so. BTW, here's the photobucket for the whole gallery:

That is some amazing work! If I may suggest flames on the roof/chest of the core figure to make it more Rodimus-y.

    Nevertheless, geez that's freaking awesome!

I didn't realize you could combine Thunderclash and Powermaster Prime like that...

Awesome job! Protoman will flip out when he sees this.

Thanx, everyone for the kind words.

Don't worry. I'll be making stickers. Just gotta' find time for it.

I had to grind down the inside front of the trailer's chest a little bit. The hinges were a little bigger than I thought.

BTW, the small figure backpack was made out of a mini-Optimal Optimus, the wings from the KO Build Tiger drill and a lego piece for the connector. Couldn't figure a way to fit it into the big figure, but I still have plans for it.
