Movie Talk: Sylvester Stallone Blames 'Batman' for Decline of '80s Action Heroes Stallone is blames Batman for the little buff guys of the 90's.
i can understand his sentiment. but it's like the tale of John Henry or the Burt Reynolds film, Hooper. The new kids are doing it faster, better and a lot smarter. they let the tech do the work for them and so they don't have to live in a gym or go all out anymore. wasn't that part of the message in the beginning of Rambo II? Trautman told him to let the equipment do all the work for him. i do disagree with Stallone that it was the end of an era. it has faded. but studios with lower budgets have to work with less and so they fall back on the methods of the 80s action films to get things done. there is room for it, it is just not used by the big studios anymore.
Wait who pwned who? There's room for all these types of movies, it's all about competition and trying to come up with the best story and premise. He at least got to bring back Rocky and Rambo, which were good movies (in my opinion). So what's there to complain about?
