Hey there, I was just watching the 1991 movie Rocketeer and thought it was a pretty good movie. It also made me kind of think he could've been Ironman's great grandfather or something. While Rocketeer didn't have a suit or anything, just a rocket attached to a back-pack, it still represented the same thing basically. Just that Ironman was much more technically advanced version of Rocketeer.

What do you think? Feel free to discuss.......................

Everytime I think of Rocketeer, I think of Shatner's Rocket Man.

Well yea she was. But I'm talking about Rocketeer himself possibly being Ironmans distant relative.

Wait there were other people-things in that movie? I thought it was about this really hot chick and how she can wear different outfits and stuff?

But no it's really a stretch to say the Rocketeer is the older of the two. Since he was invented in 1982 and Iron Man was invented in 1963.

Technically yes but it's fun to think about it that way.

Apparently there were too many good looking people in that movie for us to have a meaningful conversation about it. :D  By the way, Jennifer Connelly is totally hot.

Nah, not really possible. They weren't even part of the same continuity, however, this is something to think about:

Howard Hughes appears as a character in the Rocketeer, funding the technology that makes the rocket backpack possible.

Howard Stark is Tony Stark's father, and is step for step inspired by Howard Hughes.

So if you really wanted to engage in a flight of fancy, you could say that Iron Man uses technology invented by the same man who invented the Rocketeer's backpack. But that certainly doesn't make the Rocketeer Ironman's grandpapa.

Rocketeer is okay but serial episode Rocket Man is more fun. I used to play as him all the time as a kid. :D
