Also, I played RB1 the other day on my PS3. I had to download an update, but now I'm able to use my GH3 Les Paul with RB. Finally. Yay.
Yeah, well I beat Run to the Hills on hard drums today. I'd like to see you do that in Rock Band 2. Go on, try it. I DARE YOU. ((Rock Band one disc, dude. Make sure you got the latest patch.))
That and Run to the Hills can't be imported anyway SWEET SARCASM! That aside, played this for about 4 hours today with the old crew, loved every minute of it. Needs Bass solos though, QUIT IGNORING ME, I'M AN IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTION TO THE BAND! DN
To add the RB1 songs, you need to put the RB1 disc in the 360. It will download an update. Then go to options, "export songs", purchase your key for $5, and the ripping to your hard drive commences.
Was hoping to find a Guitar today. Didn't se ethe new drums or I would have gotten those as well. I killed my voice singing but No Fail is sweet to play with the rest of the family.
Rock Band 1 still isn't even out here yet My housemate got a copy from the UK and uses the GHIII guitar for it... still waiting for RB to come out here to get the drums etc.
Licensing. The artist on the RB1 discs were only paid for their music to appear in that one game. The $5 fee is to license their music for all future incarnations of Rock Band. This is the license deal with all DLC songs already.
Picked up mine yesterday for $6 @ GameStop! I do on-line surveys for eRewards.com and I traded in my "money" for a $25 GameStop gift card. Then I traded in 3 crappy games (Beowulf/360, Super Money Ball/Wii, Excite Truck/Wii) since they had a deal $15 extra trade in deal + a free RB2 t-shirt and it came out to be $6 and change! Woohoo! Played a bit last night, mainly the battle of the bands and some of the challenges. I tried the BOTB impossible challenge on expert and surprisingly I beat the first Judas Priest song, then they threw Dream Theatre at me and I failed after a few seconds! I still want to finish the world tour w/ my wife on RB 1 before delving too much into the tour on RB 2. Question about the transferring songs from RB 1. This may be a dumb question, but does it remove the downloadable songs from your RB 1 setlist or does it copy them to your RB 2 list. Reason I ask is I don't want to start moving anything if it's going to permanently remove them from RB 1 since we're not done playing the first game.
When you fire up RB2 all of your DLC will be available to play from the get go. When you rip your RB1 songs to the HDD, that's all you'll rip and nothing more.
I noticed that some of my DLC songs were there, but not all of them...at least I don't think so. It only seemed like the recent stuff was there. I'll look more into it later. Thanks.
I usually just play alone on guitar. Now that the option is available I made three hot chicks to fill in as the rest of my band. I love this game.
