hey guys i was wondering whats the difference between robovision prime and voyager prime?
I thought they were the same.
Voyager has darker blue paint, no flames on his legs, and a no flames on the side of his hood. I can't recall if there were any other differences, but someone did a comparison thread with pics a while back, which I can't find now.
Voyager also has less silver paint than the Robovision release.
Robovision Prime has most of the silvery gray plastic painted silver, has different silver detail paint applications, and has more flames painted on. It also appears to be molded in lighter shades of blue and red than the regular voyager release. The regular voyager has more detail paint applications, especially in the robot mode.
Bah, neither of them are worth their salt imo. Leader Prime FTW!
Robovision, IIRC is meant to look more movie accurate
I thought it was other way round, with voyager having the darker blue paint and the gold detailing
Robovision has a metallic finish to most of his silver areas, a lighter blue and red, with more flames in vehicle mode. Voyager has a darker colour scheme. Both are excellent toys, very poseable and fun to pick up and mess about with. Mine is currently holding a Swindle at gunpoint.
I hate to tell you but your opinion is wrong.
But that's ok, we expect these things form you, afterall you are Canadian.
I prefer Robovision/Voyager Prime over Leader class as I find the bigger one having the wrong proportions.
I'll agree with Boardwise in that you are wrong, but I can't really say at this point that I like him more than Leader Prime. Leader is awesome, but so is the Voyager scale mold. I haven't found the normal one yet, but Robovision is pretty darned cool.
ok so the only diffrence is paint aps, so whats the price tag on each like?
Voyager Prime has more movie accurate details.
RV Prime has silver and brighter blue, plus a couple more flames.
They're both worth getting in my opinion. Since they each have pros and cons. An experienced kitbasher coul probobly take the details from Prime, and thesilver of RV Prime and make a perfect Voyager Prime.
Leader Prime's still the best though.
I thought Robovision had a little gimmick of cyphering codes of other products like the Video game
I don't think the video game, but online at Target's website. It comes with those little red film thingies that make out shapes and letters
I think the Robovision is more expensive at retail than the regular voyager, big fancy box and all, but I could be wrong. The robovision version is only available at Target stores as well.
I think the voyager sized Primes are proportioned a little better than the Leader class in robot mode, but for sheer movie accuracy in both modes the leader class wins hands down.
Both have some very cool automorphing going on though, I recommend both toys very highly indeed.
Some folks mentioned that RV Prime was a lighter red - it's not. The red on both toys is EXACTLY the same - just the hue of blue is different (lighter on RV) and the addition of silver (on RV - gray on regular voyager) and the gold/bronze bits (on voyager)
Robovision is $25 (But I think it's on sale right now for $20) and Regular Voyager is $20. The other major difference is that Robovision is only at Target and the Voyager is wider release (although not sure if it is released yet).
Here are some comparison/side by side shots I had taken http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=133625
I think you missed the boat for RV Prime. I haven't seen one in my area for about a week now.
