Finally! All of the episodes of the much maligned and underrated Transformers: Robots in Disguise are available in UK stores as 2 seperate boxsets! I just hope the same happens with Armada, Energon and Cybertron.

Okay, I just have to ask. Can these different UK DVD sets be played using a stateside DVD-ROM? Or, are they region coded too?

When I use them in my PC it says they're region free, but in my laptop it says region 2.

Failing that there are ways to get round the regional coding.

I was really annoyed that Sony (or whomever) got the rights to the Beast Machines DVDs outside of the US, because Madman Entertainment did an awesome job on the Beast Wars DVDs.

I'm also miffed that only bottom of the barrel distributors seem to be interested in doing official releases of Armada, with that horrible official artwork from Hasbro.

Energon seems to be the only US TF series that has not had a full DVD release anywhere.

holy crap!!i can play region 2 dvd's on my computor???i have all the american episodes of rid on a vcr tape but the episode order is whacked.do these new box sets have the episodes that were cut up into clip episodes for the u.s. airing?would love to get these,as well as the headmaster, victory, masterforce sets, but thought i was going to have to buy a dvd player for region 2 discs.this could change all that if i could play them on this thing.

unfortunately the clip episodes are the same but the episodes that werent shown in the US are in the boxset. id recomend getting the complete takara collection rather than getting hm mf victory seperate as tf zone is included in the complete boxset

the headmasters part of the complete collection has a really bad dub and subtitled jaanese masterforce/victory/zone have jap audio with eng subs only. if ya have a multiregion dvd you can get a english version of cybertron on dvd on ebay. its region 3 but has english audio and fantastic picture quality.

The bad dub is old, it has nothing to do with Takara, its just on thier for completion sake. The Metrodome Takara collection is the best there is for picture quality and accurate updated subtitles.

That is unfortunately the best way to watch Headmasters/masterforce/victory.

only the headmasters has theenglish dub but it is notoriously bad.

Energon has never been (officially) fully released on DVD anywhere, for some reason. Even bootlegs are hard to track down these days, but there are bootlegs of Superlink available.

Yeah, it uses the Saban dub, which is alright. Better in technical execution than the Voicebox dubs for Armada, Energon and Cybertron.

Just not a very interesting series in english or Japanese. It's the only Transformers series to feature an actor who usually does porn, though.
