Yes, they do, and that's part of the reason some of us are wanting to make our voices heard.

I have to say that I have just been very entertained reading this whole thread (I just wasted a lot of time when I should have been doing some productive things around the house)! Honestly, I am in the camp that doesn't care what they call the toy, as long as they release it. Calling it Scourge would be cool, though. Do you think they definitely will release a black repaint of RTS G2 Prime? I really hope so. I have the original toy, and think it's awesome, but I have never watched the R.I.D. series. I remember flipping the channels when it was on, and saw Sky-bite whining saying something like "I am not a fish!" and I turned it off, thinking, "wow, this is stupid-- how dumbed down did they make Transformers?!?". Now I am curious- did I catch catch the series in a bad moment? Do you guys think the show was good on the whole, or just childish nonsense? I am kinda curious to see Scourge in animated form. Anyway, thanks for the entertaining thread! Bring on the Scourge repaint!!

You're taking this way to seriously. This is like the Erector thing again, some people can't take that it's half jest, half seriousness. Of course Scourge didn't save Transformers, but the argument Kickback posted is very convincing and weighs up points very well.

I wouldn't say RiD Scourge saved TFs (he was only a TRU exclusive after all!).

But I will say that RiD as an entire toyline on a whole did, which means he was part of the saving bit.

Yeah, IMO RID was one of the turning point. If BW brought back TFs closer tp the edge of success in terms of comebacks, RID pushed the brand over the edge of success. I can still recall my friends who were so excited over the launch.

I wasn't colelcting in 2002 but in 2010 i bought the Takara Black Convoy figure off someone here on TFW2005 (can't remeber who though)

Best figure i ever bought. This is why i totally agree with Kickback.

Bendy Prime didn't save Armada, but he was that one shining jewel in a sea of feces. So maybe the repaint should be of that? Oh wait, then the black repaint would be Nemesis Prime.

Hey   Armada Unicron, Tidal Wave, Red Alert and Hoist called they want to be recognized as shiny jewels as well.

Unicron should have been a great piece, he falls apart worse than my Uni Galvatron. Tidal Wave? Great articulation... Red Alert suffers from bad proportions combined with bad gimmick. And Hoist? Seriously? He's at least better than Smokescreen and Sideswipe.

If anyone else was close to being a jewel in that line, it would have been Wheeljack, but the utter fecalstorm of those arms ruin it.

I have never cared for him being named Scourge, but for different reasons. I always found it really weird that in the same line you had a robot that turned into a tanker truck, but there was another robot name Mega Octane that the name did not fit as he was a military vehicle. Also, G1 Scourge was the field commander of a small group of robots so I always thought it would have made more sense to call Mega Octance Scourge instead. I've always felt that they were originally going to call Scourge Mega Octane and vice versa but ultimately felt that the way the Scourge character was going to be portrayed was more fitting of being called Scourge and merely swapped the names at the 11th hour. Personally, I've always liked the name Nemesis Prime more despite the fact that the characters associated with the name usually were never really that well developed/fleshed out like RID Scourge was. Either way it's only a name. And in my opinion, it was the new molds of RID that saved Transformers. Scourge was merely the black cherry on top.

I've always hated the fact that they called him Scourge in the US series. That was a totally short-sighted bad move. Now we have two completely different characters in appearance and ambiance that share the same name. balls

Then they should have just stuck to Scourge for the Armada Nemesis Prime repaint.

But what would Cybertron Scourge then be called?
