Loved Sentinel's voice, and found Megatron & Starscream easier to understand than previous films, but I couldn't understand a word Shockwave was saying... if he even was saying something intelligable. Anyone catch anything? Also, I never caught the name of the Red Autobot Ferarri. Would quite like to know. Couldn't understand him either... or Brains, for that matter.
Did they actually call him that on-screen? For a moment I thought they called him 'Danno' or something. Also, was it me or has Ratchet shrunk?
Fairly sure the height of Shockwave's dialogue was a growled "Optimus" when he unveiled himself at the start, and that was it. But I'm sure we'll have people analyzing it and swearing blind that he's totally saying things, like we did with Bonecrusher and Mixmaster. The red ferrari's name is "Dino". He was originally going to be Mirage, but his name was changed late in post-production.
Does the name have any significance or did Bay just pull it out of a hat? Seems odd that they had so many new bot names in this film, with so many good existing ones to choose from.
I'm sure most everyone heard "Optimus" at the beginning, then like you, I assumed the rest was Cybertronian as I didn't understand a damned thing. Even my girl asked "what did he say" when he showed up in Chicago.

Dino is the name of Enzo Ferrari's son who died young. The name was (and still is in some cases) Mirage, but was changed by Ferrari's request.
Here's the absolute truth. Bay went to Ferrari and said "Hey guys I want to use one of your cars for Transformers. We think he'd be perfect for Mirage!" Ferrari responded saying "Sure you can use our car! But we want total creative control over the character, including his name, accent, and fate!" Bay responds "So we can't call him Mirage if we use your car?" Ferrari: "Nope, we want the car's NAME to be DINO, after Enzo Ferrari's son." Bay: "Ehh, I dunno guys. That name really doesn't make sense in Transformers." Ferrari: "Here's a lot of money" Bay: "Dino it is!" This is why Mirage died in the comic adaptation but not the movie. This is why Mirage's matchbox toy isn't a Ferrari. This is why we haven't seen any Ferrari toys from Hasbro. Movie Ferrari = DINO Toy and Comic "Euro Sports Car" = Mirage
and he was allowed to live for the same reason as well most likely (unlike his horrible death in the novel)
Dino's accent was AWFUL! I couldn't understand anything he said! The others on the other hand were great, though I have one little problem with Optimus... I always have the feeling that he can't express anger in his voice... I mean, in the scene with Mearing where he is pissed off, he doesn't really yell and all... It was just missing that little bit of anger in his voice. But otherwise, everything was excellent. Especially Sentinel!
