Would it be a good idea if Hasbro made G1 toys into super articulated robot replicas toys that were size scaled accurate to each other.

Sounds interesting... Like Deluxe-sized SCF/HOC with more articulation and detail? I'll get them, as long as Bumblebee is a VW, hehe. :)

Oh, how about Revoltech G1-styled ones of the ones that haven't been done before?

What you can do is file a thread title change request in the Help forum section and ask one of the mods to fix it.

They would be cheaper and smaller non transforming MP toys:)

Kaiyodo did a few years ago with the G1 Revoltechs they released.

Sadly, they stopped making them after just four molds and five releases.

If they were decent quality and sufficiently detailed, sure. But I'd rather they just give us more Classics.

I'm sure something will find a way to go wrong...

    They could suck.
They could be awesome but distribution would suck.
They could be awesome and found easily but cost 3x more than what they're worth.

    But to scale.

    I wouldn't mind. I already collected SCF/HOC, G1 Robot Heroes, MyClones, and Revoltech...I don't count busts.

Less gimmicks = less complexity, which can lead to cheaper price point.

The movie Robot Replicas were great. Jetfire in particular was a wonderful action figure

I don't really consider Transformers action figures, except for non-transforming ones with lots of articulation.

I'd rather they continued Kaiyodo's TF G1 Revoltechs. Wonderfully poseable and expressive figures. Wished they made a Soundwave, Shockwave, and Grimlock (along with Skywarp and Thundercracker; an eBay seller was offering custom Skywarps a while back and those were surprisingly great quality paint jobs on stock Starscreams).

The Robot Replicas line was trash, IMHO. I have Barricade and while I do have him sitting on my desk at work (next to a deluxe Interrogator version of him in alt mode) and looks fine as a display piece, he's a terrible toy with terrible articulation (supposedly one of the selling points of the line). Basically Revoltechs done wrong.

I would be all for more G1 Revoltechs. I've been wanting a Sunstreaker and Sideswipe for ages. And it would have been so easy for them to do Thundercracker and Skywarp.

I wonder why they stopped... I never heard why.

But this is something I would love to see. The revoltechs are loads of fun to play with.

I would like to know why Kaiyodo stopped doing G1 Revoltechs too. They made DotM Optimus and Bumblebee recently, so it's not like their relationship with Takara went south or something.

Soundwave and Shockwave would've been great, let alone so many others. Why the "easy" redeco choices based on the molds they did make (Black Convoy, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Ghost Starscream, Black Rodimus) weren't offered is a part of Transformers history I will always find odd (especially since a "White Optimus" Ultra Magnus was released).

As for the Movieverse Robot Replica line...I thought those toys were ok. I do think they weren't thought out very well considering they weren't as smoothly posable as the Revoltech figures or even general action figures (like Hasbro's own GI Joe and Marvel Universe offerings) and some bits of plastic would get in the way of certain poses. Maybe if they'd treated the line similar to Marvel Legends (decent sized and decently posable, plus this time add in extra accessories like weapon arms), it could've been a better attempt at a Transformer "action figure" subline. Instead it was wasted potential and with a "Why did they bother?" vibe. At least they look decent posed amidst all my other stuff in my collection.
