i actually have been intrested in these things, haven't bought any yet though. but they are selling really well at my local wally world
I like them. but when choosing a 12 dollar toy, I'm always gonna go with one that transforms. these things should be about 6 dollars cheaper.
agreed...they have what like maybe 6 points of articulation...
In the rare cases where the toy design just can't get CLOSE to the on-screen design, they're a great option. I wouldn't trade my RR Frenzy for the world (Especially given how adorable he is sitting on the alt-mode of his FAB self), and Barricade was tempting for a while, though I never bit.
If I were still a kid, they'd be GREAT alternatives for otherwise-too-expensive "Big Guys," Jetfire especially who looks awful in both Legends and FAB vision, is pretty nice as a RR.
But generally, yeah they AIN'T the Stateside-Revoltech figures they're cracked up to be!
I always fail to see the point of Transformers toys that don't transform.
Also, apostrophes don't work that way. It should be "Robot Replicas are dumb." An apostrophe is used for contractions or to denote possession.
I picked up a couple from the first movie when they dropped down to about a quarter of their original price, and likely I may do the same with some of the ROTF ones. The ones for the second movie are much nicer than those for the first. But if I have to choose then I'm always gonna spend my cash on something that transforms.
I agree with the thing on Frenzy. He is the only one I like. I have Jazz, too (though he's up for sale now if anyone wants it as I have two transforming Jazzs on the way).
The irony of the full title of this thread being "Robot replica is are dumb" is not lost on me.
i just find the RR's too expensive but other than that they are awesome!
If they do the Jet Prime and it looks cool, I would get that. Other than that, pass. I get the key chains because at least they are useful.
Very intelligent thread.
I like RR's.
I might have a stronger interest in Robot Replicas if they were just a little better. Perhaps it's the materials used, but they don't have quite the sharpness-of-sculpt that the transforming toys do. (IMO)
I wouldn't mind Robot Replicas if they'd actually be much more accurate to the cgi models than the actual transformable toys..as for movie 1 RR, they horribly failed at that..some of the new ones seem much better, though.
I personally love these guys. My only real beef is that the scale has seemed to shrink with this new line. But other than that, I'm still a happy camper. I love my Ironhide, Ratchet, and Starscream ones. I think they're as dead-on to their CG counterparts without getting into a higher-end format like a statue or marquette.
what? no. big no.
I hate the first movie RRs, but the ROTF ones are fantastic, with some nice, creative joint usage. I love how the bodies are segmented now.
I don't buy Transformers toys that don't transform. Nuff said.
Yes! I to would buy that. I'd probably even go for that at $12.
