You buy the plane ticket and I'm there. Cheap airfares at the moment too :)

Soldering isn't very hard, just practice on something else before attacking Prime. Check Youtube for soldering tutorials.

The hard part is drilling the holes in the perfect spot for the headlights.

How thick is the core of your optical cable? I cut one up and the core is only about 1mm across. I was planning to use it for those small lights above the windscreen(I think Big Hank posted a pic of it somewhere - stuffed if I know how he drilled the holes in there!!) but to see them you have to put his silver sunvisor parts in an awkward position.

Can't wait to see this one finished. Nice work.

That is a nice looking blue, there's some type of metallic or pearl in it. I don't think I've seen that Prime before.

My iron is a duratech 25watt. It was the cheapest one I could find. The solder is also duratech 0.71mm 60%tin 40% lead. I went for the thinnest stuff they had.

I don't really know about the 40w being too powerful, I've only evr used mine. The finer the tip the easier the job will be though.

    Looking great!

One thing thats the most inaccurate about ROTF prime is the legs, on the toy it's excusable cause it actually transforms, but in the movie his legs are much longer, maybe an inch? I'm not too sure.
But it'd be neat to see someone try it.

This is shaping up really well. :thumb

I did the same to my ROTF Prime, but I made them sit a little more flush with the existing canisters. It gets the look of the movie model pretty well IMO without incurring additional costs because we're already hacking up TFTM Prime for the hands and other parts anyway :)

I totally agree. The proportions are off either because the legs are too short or the arms are too big. :)

Wow, I never noticed anything was wrong with his legs..... now I do. At first I thought they were long but they could be a little longer.

    Looking good.

I think those arm panels should be wider at the wrist/skinnier at the elbow, they also have an angled top edge if you want to add that.

These pics give you a better look at them.

Excellent observation. I thought I could get away with these but if you spotted the mistake that quick, then back to the cutting board.

I had made some that were smaller at the top but since the arms are so much thicker than the real prime, they came out looking funny.

Does anyone know how to remove epoxy putty? lol

    wicked !!!!

I don't usually like the idea of nontransforming. But your custom is just too good to deny.
