I also want to definitely know which KO version of Soundwave to get. At first I opted with THF because I found him rather cheap on ebay, but that deal got cancelled due to seller going rogue. I'm still on the fence between THF and RH. I would even consider the straight KO, but some reviewers said he was the worst in overall quality.

I want to bring this dilemma to a close as the prices on these robot figures seem to be on the rise.

Got my Robot Heroes Pony today. Joints are nice and tight everywhere with the exception of the hip joints which makes it almost feel like a ragdoll. Guess I'll give him the Future floor finish treatment. There is minimal wear on my chrome buttons, not too bad all things considered.

The one thing bothering me are the ratcheted knee joints. I can't put the legs straight, Soundwave leans either slightly forward or slightly backwards depending on the ratchet click. I'll disassemble the knee joints tonight to see if I can find a way to straighten it.

Otherwise, a great deal for $100 shipped with 6 tapes.

For starters, @Razorclaw, I can’t seem to find the THF release anywhere but in clear plastic, so that kinda just leaves it to the real deal or RH’s offering, perhaps.

Bots and Bits left it as a bit of a tossup between THF and RH with the original KO being the worst, though RH seemed to slightly edge out THF. Then again, I think that might’ve been because the host gave RH credit for throwing in all the cassettes, which doesn’t mean much to me when I’m already planing to get MMC Ravage and the KO Ratbat is only ten bucks and looks fine.

But, in either case, it does seem like the joints need floor/nail polish in varyin places to tighten them.

Still, to rephrase what I was asking, I am curious as to whether there were any specific defects with MP-13 that would make the knockoffs worthwhile. So far as I can tell, there isn’t.

Tell us again how you feel. 274 posts, and I feel like at least 100 of them are you complaining that Pony isn't OS.

Alright so after toying around with mine last night, my Pony suffered from a couple of loose screws. Hip joints are now nice and tight. Frenzy and Rumble both had one loose leg - again, caused by a loose screw. My only major gripe is that Soundwave cannot hold his gun because the slot in the hand is too wide to hold it firmly in place. Will need to thicken that with floor polish. Otherwise, super happy!

And yes, I'm really happy that he isn't oversized.

What about the issue with the knees you complained about?

I don't know. There is some play in the knee, but after tightening the universal hip joints, it stabilized the figure and he holds most positions without any issues.

I might eventually open up the knees to have a look, but since he'll be in a display case rarely to be touched, I might leave him as-is.

I just blew my chance at owning one from Baba.:banghead:
I hesitated and it was sold out.:(  There’s a life lesson I never seem to learn.

So I ordered the Takara Soundwave KO (with laserbeak only, no extra cassettes) and the Takara Shockwave KO (on ebay) for $10 more combined than the Robot Heroes Pony would have cost me.

I feel like I just pulled a slot machine at a casino. Only this machine will take 2-3 weeks before I find out if I win or lose. Hope these ebay sellers don’t go rogue.

UPDATE 7/28/18: I ordered KOs from these ebay sellers andd they sent me officials. Shockwave had the imprintd box, ball joint hands, and flake-free cable.
Soundwave had the imprinted box and has the real Decepticon symbol.
I’m guessing these were factory rejects as Shockwave has minor scuffs on his back where his cable connects, and Soundwave has loose elbows and minor scuff on mouthplate (both have been wasily fixed). Other than the minor scuffs, very clean paint apps on both figures (and Laserbeak). I’m ecstatic!
