i bought these on impulse during a trip. theyre gashapons, by kotobukiya. ive eyed the mcfarlane one for awhile but this line has frickin ed209! i bought it for a dollar. you have 30 seconds to comply. ive always dismissed the sequels - even developed a dislike of frank miller from it, but actually caught robocop 2 on cable during the trip and actually enjoyed it. love the camp/over the top-ness. BEHAVE YOURSELVES!!!
Those gashapons do look really cool...I'll have to pick some up if I see them. I also really want the Hot Toys Robocop and ED-209, but just don't have the money right now. And Robocop 2 was actually pretty good, if not as classic as the original. Robocop 3 on the other hand...let's just not go there.
I have a lot of robocop toys, but theyre in storage, Im thinking of driving out there this weekend and pulling some of them out for display back here at the house. anyways, heres my 18 inch robocop.
What Frank Miller wrote for the Robocop sequels and what actually got made were two different things. Avatar Press did a miniseries a few years ago based on his scripts, altougth I never got round to picking it up myself.
Fom the old 80's toy series. These came in a auction lot (real auction, not Ebay) I picked up a few years ago. I probably have more of the little parts... Just can't ID them all... (Open to offers if anyone wants them!)
i've a couple'o the issues. erratic releases; didnt manage to complete the miniseries. the geof darrow-esque art was not bad really - blatant cheesecake approach to drawing girls, even made lewis hot. but the story was pretty run of the mill(er). i made a pun. ahaha. miller sucks. look at DKR2. cool find rework!
here are some of my pics. I had the one with the electronic lcd mouth and the machine gun arm but i didnt like it and sold it recently so here goes: 15" Toy Island Robocop with electronics and 7" Aoshima Robocop with opening gun compartment Robocop and his parts Put some of his armor on, gun compartment open, his fist data spike thingy ejected ordered the robocop 3 kit form sideshow a few weeks ago, can't wait for that to come in!
The Hot toys one is awesome. I love how the leg opens up to stow his gun. I am getting the 1:1 scale prop replica of his gun that is coming out in the next few months. That will be awesome as well. I have 10 of those ED-209 figures on order. I was hoping it would do more but am very happy they finaly did something. The vinal kit was good but tends to lean over time. This should be good and sturdy. Spencer.
I have the McFarlane one as well as the cartoon figure. When Iget a bigger place, I'll pick up the motion activated one. I also saw some of those Japanese random boxed figures bu tthey were 13.99. No way am I spending 15 bucks on something I might not like.
I have the McFarlane figure that Chaos Muffin posted, as well as the Mez-Itz 3-pack: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002PUCW4?v=glance Both are sealed, not because that's how I collect, but because I have no more shelf space (or space in general) in my tiny apartment.
Last I checked, my only remaining local KBtoys still had loads of Pud-face the pimp figures.. also some super hero guy that was dollar/money themed. Heh, pud-face; cracks me up every time.
