For collectors of other kinds of changing roboty-things:

    http://maisto.com/roborods_home.asp

Saw these at Walmart yesterday. They're about the same scale/size as Hot Wheels cars and a little goofy-looking and Go-Botish, but eh... someone out there might like them.

It's the accessories that they come with that are utterly laughable and ridiculous. The two I saw yesterday: one carried a chrome boom-box (why a transforming vehicle needs to carry a boom-box in 'bot mode when it should already have a sound system installed is beyond my comprehension), and the other was wearing a giant "bling" medialion around its neck.

Here's a quote from the press release explaining the "accessories":

Like a transforming robot carrying a pimp cane is going to go "unnoticed"...

    Good for a laugh though.

    :D

I... actually might want one of these. Primarily because of just how ridiculous they seem.

somebody posted an image on a diecast site i frequent

it's hard even for me to tell scale from that pic. looks bigger than 1/64; perhaps 1/50, which is popular now, or slightly larger. maisto should concentrate on making better castings for their regular diecast lines instead of this goofy shit, imo. not to say i won't pick one up out of sheer curiosity when i find them.

Is this what the next year brings? More wannabe toylines? It's Gobots all over again.

Damn that's smooth. If I find the one with the guitar, I'll probably buy it. The Heavy Metal Orchestra could always use another member.

Is it wrong that I kinda dig that old-school transformation? I mean, they look totally ridiculous, yet I find myself drawn to them for some reason. Bumper-face = awesome.

Same here. And yet, I've never been drawn to Super Go-Bots. I guess windshield-face != awesome.

I didn't know until angeltread's post that they were making a Magnum. Now I have to get one. (Probably two, since Chargers also rule.)

Now, if they make a Ford Escape, I'll buy several of them.

LOL, a Mustang and a GT, imagine all the mini-me jokes you can make with them and Alts.

If they have a Charger colored like the one on the website I might have to get it solely for the reason thats the color of my Charger.
