Does anyone remember this perticular show about Robin Hood? It's honestly pretty unqie among the other shows and films about him where it combines both the fantasy and whim with the realistic tones and stories. My family and I enjoy it a lot and I'm into this version of the legend more then the other versions. And it has some awesome music from the celtic band Cllanad too. :)

Here's the opening of the show.

This is the one with Mark Ryan, right?

Anyway, I've always preferred Errol Flynn's Robin. I think I got it from my dad.

This is the one with Mark Ryan. He plays Nasir, the Saracen swordsman.

That was one of my favorite shows as a kid and also my preferred take on the character. I just think its a very interesting approach and well-executed for its time.

My sister has the complete series on DVD, but she doesn't remember it being shown on TV. I remember it on TV, and didn't like it.

I watched it 1 or 2 years ago again. Really great show! Love it! The actor of Guy Gisbourne already died btw.
And the son of Sean Connery plays Robert of Huntingdon.

This is my favourite Robin Hood too. And I love the battle theme by Clannad.

Great show. Have the complete series on DVD -- even though I didn't really like the show that much after the original Robin (Pread?) left.

Wasn't that keen on the whole spiritual part of the show, but I loved the realistic look of the show. Most Robins wear too nice clothes and everything is too clean. Here everyone wore drab clothing (save Marian) and there was a lot of mudd.

The sheriff was probably the best.

For me this is the definitive Robin Hood show. Have seen others (including movies), but nothing came close.

Its on TV in the UK on rerun on some backwater channel or other, I caught an episode, didn't like it. Having said that its still miles better then the recent Robin Hood series from the BBC.
