    Downey Disses 'Dark Knight'

He must still be sore at Ben Stiller's nephew:

    RDJ: "You like it?"

Carl: "It'll do...until Dark Knight comes out, then you're screwed. Christian Bale would kick your ass."

Iron Man was the better movie to me, and contained more of what I like to see in a superhero movie. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, you know?

Seems like he has a pretty well thought out opinion on the matter to me.

I thought it was pretty apparent he was joking. I mean, "fuck DC comics"?

:lol  Wow. If Robert Downey Jr. didn't like the Dark Knight, then I bet Christian Bale will probably start dissin' RD Jr. And soon enough we might get to see an "Iron Man Vs. Batman" fight. :p

Someone relly needs to fix the titles on these threads. People get the wrong idea when they read "Robert Downey Jr. Disses The Dark Knight". He didn't sound like he was dissing it at all, he just "didn't get it" which I guess translates into, he didn't enjoy it at all as opposed to The Prestige. Which is understandable, TDK, like Batman Begins, isn't a movie for everyone.

As for his "Fuck DC Comics" Comment... "What the hell?"

Old news, it wouldn't be news at all if he wasn't Iron Man, which is the biggest rival for the dark knight due to all the similarities. Then he just looks like a jerk.

The reason this topic is being dredged up is because Yahoo placed it on the front page of their entertainment headlines yesterday. Must be a slow week for the tabloids.

While Mr. Downey could have phrased his opinion a bit more tactfully, I have to agree with him about Dark Knight. Overall I liked the movie. However I too was a bit disappointed in the story. Complexity is not a bad thing, but it is possible to take it too far. I felt like explaination of certain characters and details were overlooked as the focus became delivering the next shocking twist. So I couldn't follow everything that was going on. I've seen it twice and still can't explain everything properly. Thus I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked to. I perceived that is what Mr. Downey was trying to express with his comment. I've read in other articles that Mr. Downey has been very complimentary about director Christopher Nolan's work and in particular Batman Begins. So he is a bit of a fan as well.

As for his comment regarding DC Comics, of course he's a Marvel loyalist now. :lol

No kidding. I mean, look at what he stands to make if the Iron Man character continues to pop up in movies. There is no way he's going to be anything but a Marvel loyalist.

His comments aren't that bad. He didn't get it, no big deal. I did find it funny that I had to read that quote a few times to figure out what he was saying because he was so inarticulate.

Everyone has an opinion about everything. Celeb opinions shouldn't be any more or any less important than anyone else's.

It sounds to me like he was more or less joking with the anti-Dc stuff. Y'know, because he's like the Marvel kid who says DC sucks infront of the DC kid? I thought it was funny.

RD Jr rocks, but I have yet to see either film so until I do I'll have to just root for both teams.

Exactly. What no one quotes is his comment that follows where he laughingly says "he's not too old to burn bridges." So I think the DC comment was a tongue-in-cheek poke at best.

Actually I think that's the fault of the writer. I noticed a number of grammatical errors throughout the article.

No, his comments aren't that controversial. People say they didn't care for this or that movie every day. He was asked and gave an honest answer. Its the media who trying to make a mountain out of a molehill here.
