They're mechs from the anime "Special Armored Battalion Dorvack" - and two of them, the blue one that turns into a helicopter (Oberon Gazzette), and the yellow one that turns into an armored jeep (Mugen Calibur), were licensed by Hasbro for use as Whirl and Roadbuster in the G1 Transformers line

I wish there were more details, like do they still transform? How much painting is required would be nice to know too - I'm betting a lot.

Glue being required sucks, I'm spoiled on Gundam building I guess.

I doubt they transform - seems like they'd show the vehicle modes if they did

Getting all 3 for 30 bucks is cool though

I'm betting you're right - they look too simplistic and streamlined.

    No transform, no sale.

Usually I'd be with you on this, but these are cool.

For me, it's the need for painting that makes me pass. I'd spend $30 hoping to get three awesome looking models, and end up with three shitty looking ones.

Sure they look awesome, but why not just buy the actual toy that looks nearly identical AND transforms? That is, assuming you can find them for a decent price.

Definitely, I think the price would be the issue. I've got a beautiful Whirl and Roadbuster, both complete (even the steering wheel and antenna), but they cost me well over $100 together. You could get brand-new, workable representations of the characters for less than a third of that, plus some...I don't know, squat-legged robot thing. Kinda like some folks buy KO stand-ins for their collection, y'know?

Hell, if they came painted, I'd buy these in addition to mine just 'cause they'd look cool.

I once saw Roadbuster (figure was intact but only had the control pack and nothing else) for $20 at a flea market.

I have the original Dorvak Roadbuster and Whirl. The TF repaint of Mugen Calibur was better than the original, but the Dorvak whirl kicks the TFs ass. PICS on the way.

I had the copter and the tank when I was a kid but they weren't Transformers, they were on cards and purchased from KB Toys. Anyone know what brand that may have been, as I would like to track some down...

Personally, if I could get the Roadbuster one by itself, I would.
