Once again Tformers.com beats us to it. *argh!*http://tformers.com/Roadbuster-Whirl-Model-Kits/8529/news.html

Well, this IS great news to model kit builders and fans of Roadbuster and Whirl (I know my brother will want these kits).

It seems Model company Aoshima will be making models from the 1980's Japanese anime "Special Armored Batallion Dorvack." This includes 3 humanoid/suit type models and 3 mecha models which are:

    1. -Roadbuster a.k.a., the VV-54 AR Mugen Calibur (turns into jeep type vehicle) & will be 1/72 scale.

    2. -Whirl a.k.a., the VH-64 MR Oberon Gazzette (turns into helicopter) & will be 1/100 scale.

    3. -VT-61 LC Bonaparte Tulcas (turns into tank) scale unknown.

It is unknown at the time if these 3 kits will actually transform (I hope they do).
ALL are plastic injection model kits (nice!).
They will be released in Japan in October 2007 retailing at 3,500 Yen each (around $30.00 USD).

I wouldn't mind buying a Roadbuster and Whirl to paint them in their Gen.1 colors.

I expect they will transform, Aoshima isn't know for doing static stuff.

Jointing seems to be awfully simple, and they're abit too 'cartoon model-accurate' looking. Most transforming toys or kits sacrifice some sort of accuracy for engineering realities.

    Hope they do transform, though.

Oh, Dorvack. Aoshima reissues old models of this show. They don't transform, but looks cool.

I had Whirl and the tank guy as KO's when I was a kid and loved them, so although I don't like the prices, most likely gonna have to get them...so cool!

Gah, I prefer the Autobot colors. Although the shoulders on Whirl should be a lot more durable.
