Okay, I know this question comes up often but, what is the status of these toys? When are they going to be released by Jazwares?

I'm guessing thats a no. There's no mention of them on Jazwares website last I checked. Similarly, Figures.com had a comprehensive toyfair coverage section on their website which DID have road-bots pics initially but they've since all been pulled. I e-mailed Jazwares customer service to ask them but never received a response.

Are these the 1:18 scale Alternators styled transforming toys?
I had hoped to get my mitts on a couple of them for kitbashing.
If so, does this mean the line is completely kaput?

Yes, they are the 1:18 ones, and no, I saw someone with some loose ones at Auto Assembly the other week. Happywell are making them, and as far as I know they're still going ahead with them.

Happywell is usually ok with prices. Their big ko's tend to be $10. I'm guessing the normal ones will probably be $15, with the huge ones being $20. That's just a rough estimate, based on their average prices.

According to the Happywell site, they just made a video which will be available to retailers for a "reasonable price..." So I believe they are going forth with production...

I would love to get these guys and make them into Shockwave's Shocktroopers...:rock

They go for about $30 US over in the neighborhood of Korea, but no north american release as of yet. On ebay, you can regularly find the Land Cruiser and the Supra being sold for around 35 each from user Siamsky (I bought one each, and they're quite nice). Beyond those, I can't find these things anywhere which is a shame.
