I guess I'm supposed to add some date here, but I can't really say for sure what would count as the "starting" date.
The launch of the Matrix Magazine?
The merger with TFW2005 into Transfandom?
The split with TFW, leaving TFD on their own?
The change from Transfandom.net to Transfandom.com?

    Do I even care?

I remember when I first stared checking out TF sites back around 2000, Transfandom was my first.

Aye to that. It was thanks to Transfandom I found this site. But it wasn't the greatest, I must say.

The name of the site helped keep the term 'transfan' going around which should be a crime punishable by a good kicking.

I have physically struck people who use it.

I think the last update to their main page was sometime around the end of last year.

The message boards were also in a near-dead state.

And hell, how many waves of staff mass exodus did they go through?

Transfandom, among the first of the Transformers fan/message board sites, has officially gone offline. The site link leads to an ad space now.

That sounds highly unlikely considering that TFW2005 in its original form didn't even exist until what, 2000?

Man, I was wondering when they would finally shut down. I think the last update I saw was was about Masterpiece prime?? and I think it was from July '06? Whatever!
If it wasn't for them I would be here.

    Back in the '90s?

    What... Late late '90s?

    Or Mid '02?

    EDIT FOR NEVERMORE:
TFW showed up in 2000 and Transfandom in '02

I remember I had left the online fandom for a long time and when I came back TFW and some other sites had merged into Transfandom.
