I'm a big Paul Harvey fan, and I was so sad when I heard about this last night. I think that "The Rest of the Story" may be the coolest 5 - 10 minutes on the radio. Little snippets of history that no one knows about. My favorite one was about a boy on the East Coast who had been playing in a swamp and got chigger bites all over his legs. The bites became infected and all the local doctors thought that amputation might be the only answer. The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota said that they would treat him for free and all he had to do was come out, but the family was poor and couldn't afford the trip....so the boy bicycled. Rode his pedal bike all the way to Minnesota, and finally made it to the Mayo Clinic. The doctors there were astounded....the biking had increased the blood flow in his legs and cleared the infection. And that's my favorite "Rest of the Story"....RIP Paul Harvey.
I've used to listen to him when I was younger. Man, thanks Mr. Harvey for the memories. God bless you sir.
I can already hear the angels now, sighing. Mr. Harvey, with a smile, "oh, i got a million of 'em..." and keeps on giving the rest of the story. that is broadcaster heaven and he deserves it. Peace, Harvey.
Paul Harvey was a great man. I have listened to his program during lunch for many years. It was a joy to listen to his voice tell the news and "The Rest of the Story". Over the past year I was afraid this was coming since he wasn't on as much although lately he had been on a little more. He will be greatly missed.
