    Rest in peace, Marvel UK.

I totally get why Disney is doing this (given how globalized the industry has become with people from across the world working on the same book, having a separate studio in the UK isn't necessary anymore for such a small market), but it still saddens me.

That's too bad. Wonder why that edict was handed down.

Rights to Transformers are not held by Marvel / Disney, so not sure if this applies to TFs IMO.

We'll know for sure when the DotM comic launches in late June. If it's just reprints of Rising Storm and Foundation, you can say "I told you so".

I don't read superhero comics, but even I find this disappointing.

Simon Furman and the British artists were the best part of marvel's g1 comics.

Well, whatever the current links, this is a sad day for anyone who has read anything TF-related that Marvel UK produced in the 80s and early 90s. I owe them so much

I thought it died long ago. Seriously I could remember a report in the 90s that the uk offices were being closed off for original material and concentration was going to focus on the american comics distribution in the UK.

Shouldn't affect the DOTM stuff - Titan has the rights to do books, if memory serves. I don't think that Marvel UK was doing anything on Transformers recently.

Panini bought Marvel UK in 1995 (according to the Marvel UK Wikipedia article)

That must be what I was thinking of. Still 2000 A.D. is the premiere UK comics magazine imo :D

Disney and Panini have history. Bleeding Cool reminds us of previous Disney/Panini stories:

Disney Take Over Marvel International Licensing Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
EXCLUSIVE: Marvel, Disney And Panini: The Italian Job Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
Panini To Distribute Bonelli Internationally – But What of Marvel? Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
Friday Runaround – An Italian Panini, Extra Burlesque, Hold The Flash Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

I'd put some money on Panini loosing the distribution rights to Marvel in the UK at some point and Disney bringing UK repaints In House.

Wait a second. If Death's Head is a Marvel character exclusive to the UK comics, what's gonna happen to him?
