Hammer Horror Vampire Star Ingrid Pitt Dies - Yahoo! News UK
Sad news indeed. She was a great horror actress, and a hell of a hottie in her day. Rest in peace.

That is Unfortunate, but hopefully this helps bring hammer horror to blu ray so others can realize what we are now missing from the world.

I'd love that. A nice big Hammer Horror Blu ray box set would end up in my collection iin a heartbeat.

    RIP Ingrid

As a youngster watching late night hammer horrors on Channel 4 she was THE definition of sexy.

Great actress, and by all accounts a thoroughly nice person.

Hammer have just started making movies again haven't they? In my fantasy world they'd splash a bit of cash on a Pitt Blu-Ray Boxset featuring her most well-known films.

I love Hammer movies. I remember working at Bray Studios a few years ago, and I was given a tour of Pinewood (where the Hammer movies were filmed). I came out of the back of the main building and realised I was walking down a set of steps that Christopher Lee had walked down menacingly in the Hammer Dracula movies. HELL of a moment, that was.

I've never seen any Hammer horror films, but Ingrid Pitt was in two Doctor Who stories, The Time Monster and Warriors of the Deep. Very good in the former, not so much in the latter.

She even did voices in Cradle of Filth's Cruelty and the Beast.
