It's awesome people are helping to clean up. Go go!

Starting to riot near me in Salford, right near my in-laws.

Well what a totally shit day. Found out the co-op and the flats that are above it up the road from me were burnt down last night. Rumors are croydon will be hit again to night and my area (new addington) is meant to be a major trouble spot tonight.

My bosses reaction to this was "its all rumors, nothing will happen" 5 minutes later I get a call from my wife saying our village is basically in lock down, small army of cops on the street and a equally sized band of yobs, no buses running for fear of being tourched and the trams stopped, walked up to my boss told him to fuck it cos my family comes first and walked out.

Sitting here now with my wife and 3 year old son, got my sword fighting gear to hand in case trouble come this way and I am really expecting the worse.

Hope all the UK guys stay safe tonight.

I'm trying to get in touch with friends in London and Manchester to check they're ok and worrying like fuck about them.

I just count myself lucky my town's been left lone so far.

    Thanks Dila, appreciate it. :)

Damn, that sucks. Hopefully all the extra cops will be able to face down any trouble these thugs cause and kick it to the curb hard. This can't happen again, not for a fourth night. It just can't. :(

Fires near me now. Manchester's main street is apparently a running battle, major store on fire and shops just being looted left right and centre.

I was pretty sure we weren't living in Libya a few days ago, but now I've got a feeling I took a left instead of a right on the way home from work and ended up in the wrong country...

I agree, they make me feel embarrassed and ashamed. I live in England but there have been no riots near me so far. I'm heading into Birmingham at the weekend though. I just hope they'll have stopped by then. They've got absolutely no reason to do this :/

It's not these days....it's all of them.

“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days; there are signs that the world is speedily coming to an end; bribery and corruption are common; children no longer obey their parents; every man wants to write a book and the end of the world is evidently approaching.” ~Assyrian clay tablet dating to around 2800 B.C.

Reiterating the bolded part. I grew up on a Council Estate in the 80's. No money no jobs etc. We didn't riot.

From the macro to the micro, the universe we inhabit is the embodiment of chaos. Prepare as best you can, but have no illusions of security in anything.

In other news, sales of baseball bats on amazon.uk are up 24,000%(the baton is up 48,000%!).

Amazon.co.uk Movers and Shakers: The biggest gainers in Sports & Leisure sales rank over the past 24 hours

My heart goes out to everyone trying to protect their loved ones during this crisis. Stay frosty.

guys don't you see the link between the police state and Sports Direct? only by taking a 32" lcd tv can we free ourselves....

But really these kids and the people orchestrating it will get f**ked be it by the police or a shop keeper who will have a gun behind the counter some stupid kid will end up getting put in hospital or worse and frankly no one will give a s**t.

If only something like this could happen around all major cities around the world at the same time. Then I can watch in the comfort of my home as chaos unfolds.

The purpose is to get stuff, and to watch stuff burn. For kicks, in other words.

Anywho, BBC News - London rioters: 'Showing the rich we can do what we want'

Yeah, show rich people what's what by burning down your neighborhood! Burn it all down! Fight the power! News at eleven!

I'm young, but God I hate young people. To take a phrase from Louie CK - "We live in an amazing world, and it's wasted on just the crappiest generation of spoiled idiots... You non-contributing zero."

Everytime I watch news footage of the riot police, I can't help but think of the opening of Hot Fuzz.

And people who want things will always be ble to get them, no matter what the laws are. Guns don't make people criminals, people do.
