I can still remember my absolute disapointment at this awful version of Grimlock. Great Dino mode maybe, but in robot mode, he was terrible. Too small, terrible to pose. Crappy legs. Now with the images of the Fall of Cybertron Grimlock, are we now going to see a propper version of grimlock that does justice to one of the greatest TF characters of all time?

Masterpiece Grimlock is awesome, I find it hard to imagine something better.

That said, FoC Grim looks great, def buy.

I'm wondering if OP owns MP Grimlock, or if that also falls short.

I agree with Hoptimus. MP Grimlock is the definitive Grimlock on my Classicverse shelves. I put the real Classics version on my desk surrounded by Grimstone and his PCC Dinobot cohorts as a sort of lost colony of Dinobots. I'm interested in seeing how the FoC version looks in plastic form and will make any decisions/assumptions then. Although, it's safe to say, I'll end up buying at least one anyways.

I do feel that the MP Grimlock looks the best. But I'm not collecting the MP figures anymore and I also don't think they mix well with the Classics/Universe/Generations figures. With that said, Energon Grimlock is my default Classics Grimlock.

*One of the greatest TF characters of all time*

    *Grimlock*

    Does not compute.

    MP Grimlock = Classics Grimlock.

I have the SE Overkill. It's a cool presentation of that character, but yeah, the mold is meh.

Really? It came out at the same time as Mirage, which is a fantastic figure.

The Classics Grimlock is a bad representation of the character. It's good as Overkill (sort of), but not as the iconic dinobot it was supposed to be.
The FoC design is fantastic, but I'd imagine it'll suffer from being compared to the MP version way too much.

    Great dino mode.

    Awful robot mode.

The arms are short and hindered by the dino feet kibble. The shoulders don't actually lock. The legs look ridiculous and have very little posability. The tail weapon is just... ungainly. Bot mode head is nice, at least.

But yeah. Not a good figure. Never leaves Dino mode for me.

No not Simon Furman. Grimlock is one of the greatest" characters in the Transformers Universe and I am refering to the various comic versions and not the G1 animated version. MP Grimlock is my favourite version and my favourite Masterpiece. Classics Grimlock just does not do it for me and I am hoping that a potential FOC character will finally give me the the correctly scaled version Ive been waiting for.

Replace "greatest" with "iconic" and I think others will be more inclined to agree with you.

Wait, has a FOC Grimlock TOY been revealed and I just missed the announcement, or are you just going off the CGI?

The CGI cheats a whole lot, but I hope a toy gets made. Hopefully a Voyager sized toy. It might be feasible because if there was no First Edition line for Prime, where would those Voagers have been released? Generations most likely, so Generations may be getting Voyagers, and there may be more planned beyond just the Prime and Bulkhead that didn't make it in.

Bit picky, but I'll go along with that. "One of the most iconic Transformers"

We're officially pinning all our hopes on FOC Grimlock before we've seen the toy, so we can cast it aside as soon as it's revealed.

No, you haven't missed it. It doesn't exist yet. Just hoping that it happens as it is with Shockwave.

I bought the Henkei Grimlock for a friend for Christmas. I think it looks a lot nicer than the Classics version. I like the extra chrome.

I really hope they come out with some Voyagers for the new Generations line. Certain figures just don't look right as deluxes.
