You know, I was going to apologize for the spelling thing, but then I read "Or perhapps you are one of those americans that know nothing nor care for anything outside the US boarder? I actually just learned Spanish. I can spell and speak it fairly well.

 

Avengers has set a new benchmark for big blockbusters. I think TF-Next should really watch Avengers several times. Forget about the multi-movie build up to it, it has excellent pacing, action that matches TF movies (that's a compliment to TF movies) and - the one thing no TF movie has had - a despicable villain.

Bay knows how to do action all day long, his TF action sequences are great. Match that with Avengers-esque pacing, characters and tight script and we're getting what we would should expect from TF4 - an evolution in the TF movie franchise

I think if there is any DOTM influence it's minor. After all Marvel have been doing the alien invasion thing much longer than TF has.

 

It's a global product. If the WORLD hadn't embraced Marvel comics and Marvel's movies it's unlikely that Avengers would have happened.

I'd rather people just shut up and wait for actual news on TF4 since it's going to go in a different direction. Thank God that this topic wasn't about characterisation though as it would be incredibly silly and not mention unfair to compare the two series.

 

I thought Shai LeBoufe's performance in DotM was really, really good. He could do the funny parts, he could do the normal parts and he could do the really serious parts too. He's a good actor. Better than anyone here I'm sure.

Again, you can criticise the writing but again can people here do any better? People claim that the movie team don't know the mythos as if the people saying them know them better so I would greatly enjoy reading a full screenplay by the people here.

Should we just go see movies and accept whatever they throw at us because we, not being screenwriters, can not possibly have a better imagination? Writing quality is subjective, but I don't need to be a trained chef to realise when someone's taken a slash in my soup.

and the avengers are the avengers. they're no giant robots running around causing havoc. And if you don't like the Bay movies? oh well. what you get is what you get. Go watch G1 or Prime on youtube if you feel transformers needs a character/energy boost.
