I really like the new Windblade, but she really needed paint. Primed the painted spots by hand, then painted with Tamiya, lined with a Graphix marker, and finished with some Pledge with a bit of Tamiya Flat Base for topcoat. I wasn't too fond of her new scabbard and sword, so I filed down the tabs from a spare Gen Windblade's scabbard so it would slot into her leg. Also means she gets the nice translucent sword. But why stop at one sword, when you can have a Buster Sword too? It came from a pack of Kotobukiya swords, and a little filing to the top of the sword handle, then some sanding to a bit of a crazy straw, and tada! Now Windblade can have two swords. Oddly enough, the peg under her nosecone wasn't quite 5mm, so I drilled that out a bit and now she can also have a gun! Taken from Gen Blitzwing I think, works better with a deluxe than a voyager imo. I can also peg the scabbard in for vehicle mode...which I forgot to photograph. Finding a metric drill bit was surprisingly difficult in my area, but Amazon had me covered. Now I can add 5mm ports to anything! For comparison, here's my finished Windblade with an unpainted one who will eventually become Maxima And here she is with my painted Gen Windblade: There's good and bad about both, but overall I like the new RiD Warrior Windblade more.
